  • MediumRob

I’ll bold the ones you got right, add clues in italics

    • Wonder Woman
    • Yellow trunks man
He has gills, if that’s a clue
    • Blonde man in brown jacket sat on plane
      Recently remade
    • Blue jumpsuit
Too obscure for most people, but has a namesake on DS9 and if you zoom in, his name is on the suit
    • McGyver (?)
Pal of the blond bloke on the ‘plane’. Appeared in the remake as well
    • Sword wielding metal man
    • Enemy of the blond bloke on the ‘plane’. Seen in a museum in the remake
    • Steve Austin – the 6 million dollar man
    • Silver robot looks distinctly like an ambassador from the Liz story
      right show, wrong story
    • Black jump-suit man
TV version of a movie with Michael York and Jenny Agutter
    • Glowing eye creature on top in cowl
Boss of the sword-wielding metal man
    • Red robot
Underling of the boss of the sword-wielding metal man
    • Blonde man in in brown jacket with blue trousers
Think David McCallum. The company he works for has its logo on his jacket pocket
    • Blonde woman in blue shorts
Bad drawing, but she’s ‘pals’ with one of the previous guys
    • TARDIS(Spiderman on top)
    • Leela (?)
    • Alsation
Pet (sort of) one of the guys previously mentioned
    • The Robot – from Tom Baker’s first story?)
    • Doctor (Tom Baker incarnation)
    • Wolfman on horseback
That bain’t be no wolf! He shall inherit the Earth though.
    • Dalek
    • K-9
    • Miss America
Another incarnation of one of the previously mentioned women
    • Captain America
    • man with green bag
He’s nice now, but you won’t like him when he’s angry
    • Man in White jumpsuit on top of white space flighter plane
He left the Earth in 1986, but it took him a while to come back
    • Incredible Hulk
    • You left out the robot and the spaceship he’s carrying! The robot is pals with the white jumpsuit man and the spaceship’s a bit small, don’t you think?
    • Blonde woman in white jumpsuit
Pals with the white jumpsuit man, unsurprisingly. First name is the same as Fred Flintstone’s wife
    • Scared man in red star jumpsuit in the air
Bit of a cheat since he’s from the 80s, but he may be the most heroic character here
    • Auburn haired woman in ivory jumpsuit
She can talk with the animals, walk with the animals…
    • Man with white triangle on red jumpsuit
He’s reporting back home from Earth
    • man in orange spacesuit
      Pals with auburn hair woman

And don’t get me started on all those space-ships…”
Sadly, I can name all of those, too.
    From left:

    • Flown by the white jumpsuit man
    • Spots intruders that cannot be identified
    • Flown by some kids in bird outfits
    • Named after a snake
    • Named after a bird of prey, flown by orange spacesuit man
    • Home of the leader of the sword-wielding silver men
    • Hmm. Slightly tricky but I think it’s protected by the blond guy on the ‘plane’
    • Flies up from under the sea to fight the things detected by ship 2
    • The things that ship 2 is trying to detect
    • Then two more of the ones we’ve already seen
    • The home base of the ‘planes’
    • The spaceships the silver sword-wielding guys fly
  • George

I love you guys… you speak my language.
    Black jump-suit man
TV version of a movie with Michael York and Jenny Agutter
    Logan (from Logans Run)
    😉

  • Electric Dragon

Blonde man in brown jacket sat on plane – the original Starbuck from Battlestar Galactica
McGyver (?) – actually Apollo from BSG. (played by Richard Hatch, who went on to be Tom Zarek in the reboot)
Sword wielding metal man – a Cylon from BSG
Silver robot looks distinctly like an ambassador from the Liz story – actually from DW:”Robots of Death”
    Black jump-suit man
TV version of a movie with Michael York and Jenny Agutter – must be Logan’s Run but I didn’t know there was a TV series.
Glowing eye creature on top in cowl – Baltar from the original BSG
Wolfman on horseback – not wolf but ape. As in Planet of the Apes. I think.
Miss America – is this another Wonder Woman?
man with green bag – Bruce Banner – the Hulk’s alter ego.
Man in White jumpsuit on top of white space flighter-plane – Buck Rogers!
Blonde woman in white jumpsuit – Wilma Deering from Buck Rogers.
Scared man in red star jumpsuit in the air – Greatest American Hero. Theme tune best known as George Costanza’s answerphone (

    )
Auburn haired woman in ivory jumpsuit – Space 1999 , I think, but I admit I don’t know that one too well.
Man with white triangle on red jumpsuit – Mork from Mork and Mindy (Robin Williams)
man in orange spacesuit – Moonbase Alpha must mean Space:1999 again
(You left out the robot and the spaceship he’s carrying! The robot is pals with the white jumpsuit man and the spaceship’s a bit small, don’t you think?) The robot is Twiki from Buck Rogers (bidibidibidi)
    Spaceships:
    # Flown by the white jumpsuit man
    Buck Rogers. Ranger 3.
    # Spots intruders that cannot be identified
    Don’t know this one.
    # Flown by some kids in bird outfits
Oh man. The Phoenix! From Battle of the Planets!

I loved that show when I was about 7 or 8. Shame that as it turns out it was a bowdlerised and butchered version of the Japanese original Gatchaman.
    # Named after a snake
    A Viper.
    # Named after a bird of prey, flown by orange spacesuit man
    Eagle
    # Home of the leader of the sword-wielding silver men
From original BSG but don’t know the name.
    # Hmm. Slightly tricky but I think it’s protected by the blond guy on the ‘plane’
    # Flies up from under the sea to fight the things detected by ship 2
    # The things that ship 2 is trying to detect
    UFO?
    # Then two more of the ones we’ve already seen
    # The home base of the ‘planes’
    Battlestar Galactica itself.
    # The spaceships the silver sword-wielding guys fly
    Cylon warships.

  • A bit late to this party, but glad to see there are a few where I can help out.
The cowled figure is from the original ‘Battlestar Galactica’ but it’s Lucifer, voiced by Jonathan Harris (Dr. Smith of ‘Lost In Space’)
Cathie Lee Crosby is that other Wonder Woman. She starred in the first pilot.
Okay, Yellow Trunks Man is “Mark Harris” (Markarris as an original name?) played by Patrick Duffy in “The Man From Atlantis”.
I’m wondering if whatever Twiki is holding has any significance? I don’t want to jump back to the original site to make it bigger and lose all this. (Working on the computer at work – not the greatest).
The gorilla on horseback is probably General Urko of “Planet of the Apes”.
Now as for David McCallum – could this go two ways? Either his character is from ‘The Invisible Man’ or from ‘Sapphire and Steel’ (a show I’m still not familiar with.
And with regards to the blonde in the shorts, I’ll guess Jessica from ‘Logan’s Run’ as played by Heather Menzies.
The Richard Benjamin from ‘Quark’ would have been tough to place without the nametag, it’s not a good likeness.
Are we still missing any other characters? (And I’m not one for the gadgetry and spaceships either.)
I would have thrown in the robot Peepo from ‘Space Academy’ and a Sleestak from ‘Land of the Lost’…..

I think we’re pretty much there. Good work everyone!
Of the people, we still had David McCallum as The Invisible Man aka “The Klae Resource” (the company name is on his lapel). You can just about make out that he’s removing his latex hand to reveal… nothing.
Next to him is Jaime Sommer (aka The Bionic Woman). Rubbish one that.
That is indeed Cathy Lee Crosby in the star-spangled tracksuit as Wonder Woman from the pilot movie (good spot Tobes)
Twiki is carrying the Spindrift (sp?) from Land of the Giants
Auburn-haired woman is Maya, the shape-changing alien in Space: 1999. Next to her is Commander Koenig from Space:1999.
Up in spaceship land, the ones no one got were SID (space intruder detector) from UFO; a Cylon Base Star from BSG; one of the fleet or a shuttlecraft (not sure which) from BSG; an Interceptor (sorry, from moonbase, not from under the sea as previously advertised) from UFO; a UFO from UFO; and a Cylon raider from BSG at the end to give it its official name.
Hope you enjoyed it – it’s a nice piece isn’t it?

  • So if that’s Jaimie Sommers – you’re right, badly drawn – then the German Shephard next to her must be Maximillian the bionic dog. (Picture could have used Daggit there in with Max and K-9.)
Okay, I messed up with the BSG ID’s. Lucifer was the reddish robot assigned to Baltar as his assistant. And the cowled figure is the Imperious Leader.

  • Ha ha! See, I knew if I just gave those ridiculous prompts everyone else would come along to the party! 🙂
That was good fun btw and I’m kicking myself about not properly visualising the right DW ep for Robots of Death. Its all the Liz talk lately: it’s frazzled my brain!

  • Yep, it’s Max. I think it says so on his name tag.
