What have you been watching? Including Britannia and Black Lightning

It’s “What have you been watching?”, your chance to recommend anything you’ve been watching this week

The Winter Olympics is over! Isn’t it? I think it is. I have to admit I’ve not been paying it any attention.

But it seems to be over, judging by the fact we’re starting to get some new shows again in the US. I’ve already reviewed CBS’s Living Biblically this week and at some point in the next few days, I’ll also be casting a critical eye of Good Girls and The Looming Tower. I’m skipping that Biggie and Tupac thing (Ed: Unsolved), on the general grounds it’s a mini-series, a biopic and an anthology, which is a fatal triple combination.

I might give Heathers a go, if I can be arsed, but I’ve not seen the original and other reviews haven’t been kind. I might give Canada’s Crawford and Little Dog a whirl, too, assuming I can find both a way to watch them and the time.

But that’s all for the next week to reveal. Until then, after the jump, I’ll be looking at the current regulars: Black Lightning, Corporate, Counterpart, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, High Maintenance and The Magicians. And since I had a little time to spare, I finally caught up with the final four episodes of Britannia.

What have you been watching? Including Corporate, Counterpart and Baron Noir

It’s “What have you been watching?”, your chance to recommend anything you’ve been watching this week

The Winter Olympics continues to have its chilling effect on TV programming, with an almost glacial release of new shows and plenty of old shows frozen in their tracks. Elsewhere, I’ve reviewed Stargate Origins (Stargate Command) and Here and Now (US: HBO). But that’s been the lot, more or less, in the past week. That does mean, though, that I’ve been able to christen a new movie feature on TMINE this week, Movie Monday, to take in film reviews, which means WHYBW can now focus on tele.

Black Lightning‘s on holiday this week, so that just leaves us with the remaining usual regulars: Corporate, Counterpart, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, High Maintenance and The Magicians, as well as the season finale of Baron Noir. Two of them are getting a promotion – can you guess which ones?

What have you been watching? Including High Maintenance and Star Trek: Discovery

It’s “What have you been watching?”, your chance to recommend anything you’ve been watching this week

For once, I actually managed to watch and review all the TV I promised to watch and review last week. Well done me. True, Boxset Monday ended up as Boxset Tuesday, but that’s largely because Squinters turned out not to be Boxset Monday-worthy material.

Elsewhere, you’ll find reviews of:

Later in the week, I’ll be dealing with HBO’s Here and Now, as well as anything else that pops up despite the Winter Olympics. But today, there’s the latest episodes of the current roster of regulars: Baron Noir, Black Lightning, Corporate, Counterpart and The Magicians. Star Trek: Discovery‘s season finale has aired, too, but taking its place in the viewing queue is the returning DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. Lastly, it turned out that High Maintenance returned a few weeks ago without my noticing, so I’ve been playing catch-up with that.

See you after the jump.

What have you been watching? Including Happy!, Engrenages and Baron Noir

It’s “What have you been watching?”, your chance to recommend anything you’ve been watching this week

I’m a little bit behind. Sorry. Watching all of Altered Carbon (Netflix) for Boxset Monday, coupled with the double-episode French demands of Engrenages (Spiral) and Baron Noir meant that although I’ve managed third-episode verdicts of Counterpart (US: Starz) and Black Lightning (US: The CW; UK: Netflix), I’ve not yet had the chance to see the first eps of A.P. Bio (US: NBC) or Let’s Get Physical (US: Pop). They’ll be coming later in the week, along with a gander at Squinters (Australia: ABC) and maybe even The New Legends of Monkey (Australia: ABC Me; UK: Netflix), although that’s really for kids. Still, Monkey Magic!

Still a lot of shows are now ending, which should make that job easier. Indeed, after the jump, I’ll be looking at the season finales of Engrenages (Spiral) and Happy!, as well as the penultimate episode of Star Trek: Discovery.

On top of that, I’ll be looking at the latest episodes of Black Lightning (yep, another one), Baron Noir (well, one of them, since at two episodes a week, I’m a bit behind…), The Magicians, SEAL Team and Will & Grace.

See you in a mo.

PS I saw two new movies in the whole of January. That’s not a lot, is it? So it might be time to have a Monthly Movies feature, rather than including it in WHYBW. What do you all think about that?
