Heathers, of course, got postponed following the school shooting in Parkland, so I’m holding off on previewing that until there’s a new airdate.
Season two of Marvel’s Jessica Jones is out tomorrow on Netflix – yes, I know that’s a Thursday, but it’s to coincide with International Women’s Day – so have a guess what next week’s Boxset Monday will be. I’m sure there’ll be some more new shows for me to talk about in the next week, too – at the very least, Life Sentence is starting on The CW tonight, but there are probably more.
But for now, let’s talk about the usual regulars: Black Lightning, Corporate, Counterpart, DC’s Legends ofTomorrow and The Magicians. SEAL Team and Will & Grace also made their return, as did The Good Fight for its second season. High Maintenance turned out to have finished last week after only six episodes, which sort of makes sense in terms of some of the themes of the episode, but it’s not like it went out with a bang.
I did give the second episode of Living Biblically a try, but when I realised “Do not worship false idols” was the theme of the episode and its target was smartphone-use, I decided that the word ‘literally’ in the phrase “literally following the word of the Bible” was being stretched far more than common decency should allow, so decided to switch it off pronto.

TV Preview: Ordeal By Innocence + Q&A with Sandra Goldbacher, Sarah Phelps, Morven Christie, Gaynor Holmes and James Prichard
Thursday, 22 March 2018 – 6:30pm
Cineworld Renfrew Street, Glasgow
Wealthy philanthropist Rachel Argyll is murdered at her family estate Sunny Point. Her adopted son Jack Argyll, a young delinquent, is arrested for her murder. He vehemently protests his innocence. Eighteen months later, Dr Arthur Calgary, a scientist, walks onto the velvety lawns of Sunny Point claiming to have just returned from an expedition to the Arctic. Even more extraordinary is his claim to hold the alibi that can prove Jack’s innocence.
But Jack died in prison before the case could come to trial, and the Argyll family is reluctant to dig up the secrets of the past. Rachel’s widower Leo is about to remarry his secretary Gwenda and none of Rachel’s other adopted children Mary, Mickey, Tina or Hester, nor longstanding housekeeper Kirsten, is willing to reopen that most horrendous chapter of their lives.
However, the shattering implications of Calgary’s story are too big to avoid; if he is telling the truth then the wrong person was arrested for Rachel’s murder. And if Jack was not the killer, then it must have been somebody else at Sunny Point.
This screening will be followed by a Q&A with director Sandra Goldbacher, writer Sarah Phelps, actor Morven Christie, BBC Scotland Commissioner Gaynor Holmes and James Prichard, Chairman & CEO Agatha Christie Ltd. Networking drinks will follow the Q&A.
