Ta da. As if by magic, Sitting Tennant appeared. What costumes will he be wearing today?

In Ms Rullsenberg’s entry, he appears to be wearing a bear costume, so clearly getting ready for a circus adventure then. In Ms Jaradel’s entry, he’s wearing the world-recognised uniform of a ‘micro-tiddlywinks’ player, complete with high-powered magnifying spectacles. While in Sister Chastity’s (welcome back! I do hope your period of penance is over) photo, he’s clearly trying to be a journalist – note the "pulled through a hedge backwards look" and the fake BBC News logo for verisimilitude.

With a bonus half-point to Jaradel for topicality (final week for Planet of the Dead topicality bonuses), that gives us the following leader board

At witty caption central, it was an age of firsts. Marie finally got a bonus Gary Numan caption point (if at first you don’t succeed, etc), Jaradel got her first wittiest caption point for picture 1, jointly with Toby, who, in another first, also got the wittiest caption point for picture 2. Which means, once again, that Toby and Marie swap places at the top. It’s a true clash of titans, although hopefully not Clash of the Titans.

A day early to give you all some holiday time and a day of preparation for the excitement of the Easter Special, Planet of the Dead, Sitting Tennant is here, bursting with pictures of David Tennant taking it easy thanks to Rullsenberg and Jaradel. Here we see him traumatised and thinking of times past after an obviously awkward lunch with the Doctor Who producers in which no one felt they could discuss that fishing trip incident.

Thanks to Jaradel’s topicality and Sister Chastity performing penance of some kind, the leaderboard now stands as follows:

I do have a big pile of pics from Jaradel and Rullsenberg, so I’m not sure what to do to clear the backlog. More Sitting Tennants? More Tennants sitting per Sitting Tennant? Rationing? Some kind of quota system. Any ideas?

Meanwhile, back at the witty caption competition, Marie tried to use Gary Numan lyrics without knowing any and thus was unable to use them appropriately.

Sorry for the slight delay over Sitting Tenant today: I’ve been breaking in a new laptop after replacing my six-year-old PowerBook (heat-scarred, held together with sticky tape, broken modem, 7 key falling off, frequently crashing and very, very slow) with a new MacBook (ooh. Shiny. Fast. Powerful. Everything works. No keys falling off).

Hope the wait hasn’t made you tense.

Anyway, today’s Sitting Tennants are from Rullsenberg, Sister Chastity and Jaradel, who have once again showered me with so many pictures of David Tennant, we might need to have two Sitting Tennants next week, one on Tuesday and one on Thursday to cope with the Easter holidays. What do you think? Or shall we give them all a break from competition and just use up the pics the following Friday?

As you can see, these pics show the shock and worry experienced by David Tennant when he heard he was going to die, only to discover he was going to the Planet of the Dead, not the land of the dead as he was originally led to believe by the taxi driver. Still, one hell of an April Fool.

It’s Friday, it’s five to 1 (not that that matters), it’s… Sitting Tennant. After a couple of Comic Relief outings, we’re back on firmer, slightly scarier ground with some publicity pictures for the forthcoming Easter Doctor Who special, courtesy of Jaradel and Sister Chastity; Ms Rullsenberg did try to creep in at the last minute with one of her own, but it had already been submitted (twice), I’m afraid – you’ve got to be quick when it comes to pictures of David Tennant taking the weight off his feet, I’m afraid.

Anyway, as you can see, the special is going to show us all just how angry a London bus conductor can get when he spots you putting your feet up on the seats. Beware, children, because even David Tennant fears the bus conductor.

With those highly topical extra pictures, the leader board now stands as follows, with Sister Chastity and Jaradel swapping places after a concerted effort from the order of pervitude.

It was a Blitzkrieg the likes of which we’ve never seen before back at topical captions, with Toby and Marie slugging it out like Godzilla and Mothra – at least, if Oscar Wilde and James Whistler had been wearing the Godzilla and Mothra suits – with Jane Henry, Jaradel and Ms Rullsenberg standing in for the plucky Japanese army, Persephone guest-starring as a terrified Tokyo office-worker, and with me as the various municipal workers clearing up the rubble and allocating witty-points to: Jane Henry for picture 1, Jaradel for her picture two caption; Toby and Marie jointly for picture three.

So many pictures have come flooding into the Sitting Tennant gallery over the past week – this morning, I had 19 in the pile – to get through them all, we’ve had come up with a very special edition of Sitting Tennant, in which we’ll all learn a little something about ourselves and life, I think.

Today, we’ll use up the Comic Relief pictures before we head off to some not especially spoilery Planet of the Dead shots. Now, there were quite a few similar shots to last week’s Sitting Tennants so I’ve disallowed some of them (you can view the alternates to see if you disagree: Sister Chastity 1, Sister Chastity 2, Rullsenberg 1, Rullsenberg 2). The surviving entries are above, at least one of them demonstrating how he won Celebrity Mastermind (he had a floating cheat-sheet with the answers on them).

Anyway, with topicality bonuses, that gives us the following picture leaderboard:
