Every Friday, TMINE lets you know when the latest TV shows from around the world will air in the UK
Lots of acquisitions this week, but only a couple of premiere dates, which I’ll be covering after the jump: Mrs America and Lovecraft Country.
One thing I should add before that though is that I’ve just noticed that Condor has actually moved in the UK from StarzPlay to Sky 1 – season one is now available as a boxset, while season 2 will start on July 15 at 9pm.
Acquisitions
- Alibi has acquired CBS All Access’ Why Women Kill, CBS’s Tommy and CBS’s Evil. They’ll all air by the end of this year
- Apple TV+ has picked up the rights to HOT (Israel)’s Losing Alice
- BBC Three has acquired Freeform (US)’s Good Trouble and Motherland: Fort Salem
- Sky One has acquired Fox (US)’s Prodigal Son. That probably will air on Tuesday, July 28. But that’s not certain
UK premiere dates
Mrs America (US: Hulu; UK: BBC Two)
UK Premiere Date: Wednesday, July 8, 9pm
Mrs America is loosely based on the story of the movement to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment, and the unexpected backlash led by Phyllis Schlafly, played by Blanchett. Through the eyes of the women of that era –both Schlafly and second-wave feminists including Gloria Steinem, Betty Friedan, Shirley Chisholm, Bella Abzug and Jill Ruckelshaus – the series explores how one of the toughest battlegrounds in the culture wars of the 70s helped give rise to the Moral Majority and shifted the American political landscape.
Stars: Cate Blanchett, Rose Byrne, Uzo Aduba, Elizabeth Banks, Kayli Carter, Ari Graynor, Melanie Lynskey, Margo Martindale, John Slattery, Jeanne Tripplehorn, Tracey Ullman and Sarah Paulson

This begins a struggle to survive and overcome both the racist terrors of white America and the terrifying monsters that could be ripped from a Lovecraft paperback.
