Every Friday, TMINE lets you know the latest announcements about when new imported TV shows will finally be arriving on UK screens – assuming anyone’s bought anything, of course
So I missed a premiere date. Sorry about that. It might have come out while I was on holiday. Anyway, just in case you want to experience what it’s like to be Australian and constantly see Rebecca Gibney whenever you turn on your television set, Netflix UK is now carrying Wanted, in which Gibney and Geraldine Hakewill go on the run after witnessing a murder involving dirty cops. I didn’t get much further than the first episode, but YMMV.
Amazon’s autumn pilot season is set to begin on November 10. That’s going to include Sea Oak, Love You More and The Climb, but I haven’t seen any of those and there are no trailers, so you’ll just have to read this article to find out what they’re going to be about.
In terms of acquisitions, Channel 5 picked up Speechless (US: ABC) this week, but we don’t even know which of its various channels that will air on, let alone have a premiere date. I’ll let you know when they deign to tell us.
After the jump, though, some honest to goodness UK premiere dates and details about The Sinner (US: USA; UK: Netflix), Babylon Berlin (Germany: Sky Deutschland; UK: Sky Atlantic) and Valor (US: The CW; UK: Netflix). See you in a mo.
Valor (US: The CW; UK: Netflix)
Premiere date: Wednesday, November 1
Heroic army special forces team return from a mission and are decorated for their valour. However, their official explanation might not be entirely true, and when they’re back on duty, they begin their own investigation to find out what was really going on behind the scenes.
Slightly different to the other current US military shows, with a bit more on the relationship side and a thriller angle, too, Valor‘s pilot episode wasn’t half bad, but it wasn’t for me.

Babylon Berlin (Germany: Sky Deutschland; UK: Sky Atlantic)
Premiere date: Sunday, November 5, 9pm
Period crime noir drama set in 1929 Berlin looking at post-WWI German life in the Weimar Republic, as well as the stirrings of Nazism, the Russian Mafia and nore.
Haven’t seen it but it’s going down a bomb in Germany at the moment, so I’ll be watching it when it airs here, I suspect.
The Sinner (US: USA; UK: Netflix)
Premiere date: Tuesday, November 7
Adaptation of Petra Hammesfahr’s novel about a young mother (Jessica Biel) who publicly stabs a man in the neck – but has no idea why she did it. So detective Bill Pullman decides to investigate.
This aired over the summer in the US while I was on holiday so I’ve no idea if it’s any good. It was supposed to be a limited series, though, so should be complete in and of itself.
