New US TV show casting

  • Edwin Hodge joins CBS’s NCIS: LA spin-off
  • Casting on NBC’s Sean Hayes pilot and HBO’s Masters of Sex
  • Jeffrey Tambor to star in Amazon’s The Onion Presents
  • Toby O'Brien

if the 'NCIS: LA' spinoff actually happens, doesn't that set a record for spinoffs? Four generations? 'JAG' begat 'NCIS', 'NCIS' begat 'NCIS: LA' and now this. I don't think even 'All In The Family' went that deep. I think they only got as far as three ('AITF', 'Maude', 'Good Times' as well as 'AITF', 'The Jeffersons', 'E/R')

Well, I'm glad GOOD COP won't be coming back. I was quite up for a show about actual policing, so it was such a shame to find it was actually about the world's least sensible policeman going gun mad and then trying to cover it up.

I don't understand why the BBC (or others) doesn't just adapt some of the many non-fiction policing memoirs. It'd be nice to have something that wasn't a CSI rip-off or a period mystery.

  • ITV's usually better at cop dramas than the Beeb, I find

  • GYAD

    True enough.

  • I think you're probably right. I can't think of any deeper than that
