Today’s Joanna Page: Tweeting

Joanna Page in FHM

It’s been a long time since the last Today’s Joanna Page. What’s she been up to? When she’s next going to be on tele, I hear you ask?

Well, obviously I don’t hear you ask, because that would be sure sign of insanity. Although…

Anyway, you could ask her yourself since she’s now on Twitter. But after doing panto over Christmas…

…she filmed an episode of Marple with Sir Donald Sinden. Haven’t yet watched Marple so this one’ll be a first. Apparently, she laughed a little too much on the last day of filming when the body turned up.

She’s also been on a tribute show for Welsh actress Margaret John, is about to start filming a pet show for Sky 1 with TV vet Marc Jacobs, and has kissed some Dunhill shirt collars to raise money for prostate cancer research. And she’s probably judging Nokia’s X6 competition to find a new entertainment reporter at this very moment.

But spare a thought for her poor hubby, James Thornton, who ended up in hospital over Valentine’s Day weekend after being hit by a car. He’s on the mend now, thankfully, which means he’ll likely end up doing yet another Ready, Steady, Cook with her – they’ve done two so far.

What if Community had a Friends-style title sequence?

Community is of course one of the funniest new shows on US TV this season, as you may recall from my third-episode verdict and initial review. Naturally, it’s not been purchased by any UK broadcasters, but that’s another story – you can always try TV Dome instead.

But what about its title sequence? Does this say funny to you?

It’s nice, but funny? No.

You know what had energy and verve? The Friends title sequence, that’s what. So how about if Community had the same title sort of title sequence as Friends? Huh? Huh?

Much better, huh? BTW, doesn’t Gillian Jacobs who plays Brita on the show have the cutest Twitter avatar in the whole world…

On the impossibility of taking Michael Gove seriously: A Stab in the Dark

Michael Gove. You must know him, right?

No? Okay, well he’s a Tory MP and Shadow Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families. Look, here he is on Sunday’s The Politics Show:

Now, I have a problem with Michael Gove. No matter what he does, no matter where he goes, I will always remember him as being one of the three hosts, including David Baddiel and Tracey MacLeod, of Channel 4’s early 90s comedy/polemic show A Stab In The Dark.

No one who had anything to do with A Stab in the Dark should be an MP.

wc_webchat3.jpg

Just in case you’re in the US – or live in the UK are something of a night owl/sky lark (or some kind of bird that gets up early) – I thought you’d like to know that USA Network is hosting a live video webchat with Matt Bomer and Tim DeKay tonight at 7pm ET/6pm CT (which would be 3am UK time, if I’ve done my sums right). In case you don’t know, they’re the stars of USA Network’s White Collar, which is going to be shown by Bravo in the UK.

The webchat is going to be on the USA Network web site, and to keep yourself entertained until tonight – or to find out what White Collar‘s like – my review is back here. Or there’s this here YouTube video.
