  • BBC 3 and 4 are hugely problematic: there is possibly an argument that much of BBC4’s output is what would have previously appeared on BBC2 (and often does turn up there as a repeat).
In much the same way, the best of BBC3 is likely to poll up on BBC1 (or BBC2 for some items).
But there is much of what BBC3 do that is risky and experimental – it’s besides the point whether I may personally LIKE it all – and accommodating that in the BBC1 or 2 schedules seems much less feasible. Hmm… tricky issues.
On a related point though, whilst I may personally love the regular repeat slots on BBC3 (Doctor Who, I’m thinking of you), in this age of the iPlayer and DVD releases these possibly are not as crucial as they may have been in the past. Is there really any excuse for the schedules of BBC3 and BBC4 to have quite SO many repeats on them????

Ah, but all the good stuff is on BBC4 – it means I only have to look through one channel’s TV guide if I know it’s all on there.
