Some more trailers for Showtime and the BBC’s Episodes, with Matt LeBlanc, Stephen Mangan and Tamsin Greig

Episodes, starring Matt LeBlanc, Tamsin Greig and Stephen Mangan

Showtime and BBC2 have been working together on a new sitcom, Episodes, in which a successful British comedy is remade by an American network – and ruined. Starring Matt Le Blanc as “Matt LeBlanc”, the star of the new show, this also sees former Green Wing stars Stephen Mangan (who’s in BBC4’s Dirk Gently tonight) and Tamsin Greig as the British writers experiencing something of a culture shock.

The original trailer went up a while back, but now there are two new trailers as well as a behind the scenes vid (yes, that is Jimmy Mulville. The real one).

What do you think? I think it actually looks pretty funny.

  • Ohhh, this looks very promising. I like Leblanc. I’m also a long time admirer of British tv who often moans about American re-imaginings of already great shows. For example, I’ve been waiting to see just how an American version of Being Human is handled. But as Episodes is pretty much about said process (cultural conversion), well, I’m keenly interested (despite the fact that Leblanc is not a vampire, Mangan’s not a werewolf, and Greig’s not a ghost).

It does look good, whereas I’m not entirely sure about the US version of Being Human – primarily because it’s on SyFy where there’s a good chance it’ll end up a Warehouse 13/Eureka clone.
