Sensation Comics #35

It’s a miracle. I got all my work done early and therefore Weekly Wonder Woman avoids a Bank Holiday weekend hiatus. Woot woot!

After the jump then, we’ll see the end of the three-part ‘Vendetta’ in Sensation Comics Featuring Wonder Woman, the conclusion of Convergence: Wonder Woman and the penultimate instalment of Convergence itself. And there will be blood. Mainly because of the punching. But also the vampires.

Injustice: Gods Among Us - Year 4 #1

Last week, I left you with a conundrum:

Year Three of slugfest Injustice: Gods Among Us has just finished and Year Four begins later today. What’s that going to be about, after we’ve escalated from Superman v Batman and regular superheroes in Year One, to Superman v intergalactic superheroes in Year Two to Superman v magical heroes in Year Three?

I also left you with the clue that it was going to be a Wonder Woman-centric Year. So, did you guess correctly, oh wise one, because Year Four of Injustice: Gods Among Us is going to be all about the Greek gods and how they’re taking Superman’s new regime. Let’s see who they bring into the war (there’s a clue there)…

Also out last week was the first of a three-part story in Sensation Comics Featuring Wonder Woman, in which diplomat Wonder Woman tries to broker peace in Africa, something in which at least one god also has an interest.

And as it was Free Comics Book Day last week, we also got a preview of Justice League #41, which shows us hints of what’s to come this month in the Darkseid War. Turns out Wondy might have a very similar new enemy to fight, one with an odd taste in clothes – and that this might turn out to be one of the most important issues for Wonder Woman continuity since the nu52 began…

Sensation Comics Featuring Wonder Woman #32

Well, it was a bumper week for Wonder Woman. Wonder Women, to be exact. As well as her regular, slightly alternative universe title Sensation Comics Featuring Wonder Woman giving us a quick trip to the underworld to enjoy, we had a return trip to the regular DC universe of Superman to do some very scientific experiments, and we had flashbacks to numerous appearances of hers throughout the ages in Justice League. On top of that, we had a look back at how she ended up spending more than a year asleep in Injustice: Gods Among Us – Year Three: Annual #1 and saw a rare return appearance by Red Son Wonder Woman over in Convergence – Action Comics #1.

See that dot on the horizon? That’s all my cash running away towards DC’s new headquarters.

Wonder Woman: Convergence

The death match that is Convergence is now well under way at DC. No, really, I’m not being metaphorical. It really is a death match – all superheroes from all DC continuities are stuck under domes and are being asked to fight one another to see who’s the winner.

How edifying.

Anyway, until now, we’ve not seen Wonder Woman – any Wonder Woman – joining in with the action, but this week, we’ve had the first issue of Convergence: Wonder Woman. Who do you think DC will have chosen for the first fight? William Marston’s Wonder Wonder (woot, woot!)? Odyssey Wonder Woman (they could do worse)? Flashpoint Wonder Woman (oh, surely not…)?

You’ll find out after the jump, although the true Wonder Woman nerd will be able to tell from the typeface used on the cover above who it is.

Also this week, it’s tag team time, as Wonder Woman ’77 swaps places with Sensation Comics in the release schedule, with Wonder Woman teaming up with Poison Ivy to fight a dragon. But which Wonder Woman is this? Well, like Wonder Woman ’77 it’s perhaps every Wonder Woman. I’ll explain after the jump.

Weekly Wonder Woman: Wonder Woman ’77 #5-6

Convergence is upon us. However, beyond a brief appearance by Futures End Wonder Woman in issue #2…

Futures End Wonder Woman in Convergence #2

…that’s pretty much been her only appearance so far, as far as I can tell.

That means this week I’ll only be looking over issues #5-6 of Wonder Woman ’77. If you remember, when last we left her, Lynda Carter Wonder Woman was having a fight with Cathy Lee Crosby Wonder Woman and wondering if she was the real thing or not. Now, in the conclusion of the story, we discover who’s the true Wonder Woman as a plethora of villains turn up for a fight that only the real thing can finish.
