The 10 most popular search terms this month

Ah, my blog is so useful:

  1. satan
  2. David tennant
  3. californication
  4. joanna page naked
  5. eastbound and down
  6. lie to me
  7. casanova
  8. rupert penry jones
  9. richard armitage
  10. the haunted airman review

As you can see compared with last month, while Satan and David Tennant are holding their own, Karen Gillan, Ali Larter and Erin Karpluk’s popularity have been on the wane. Out of sight, out of mind, as they say.

That would certainly explain two new things: Joanna Page in a state of nakedness seems to have become a buzz topic, presumably as a result of this month’s FHM, while Robert Pattinson fans appear to want to catch up on his back catalogue of rubbish BBC4 dramas thanks to the impending Twilight.

I wonder what people will be looking for next month…

Today’s Joanna Page: Friday Night With Jonathan Ross

I’m sure you all tuned in to watch Joanna Page on Friday Night With Jonathan Ross last week. If you didn’t, you missed a clip from the third series of Gavin & Stacey as well the information that it’s going to be broadcast next month (no news about when it’ll be making its way over to BBC America, I’m afraid). Bad luck.

Anyway, just for your delectation, here she is again, courtesy of YouTube (unfortunately, sans Gavin & Stacey clip. You’ll have to go to the iPlayer for that: the interview starts at about 24 minutes in). It’s worth watching, even if you’re not a big Joanna Page fan, because

  1. You get to see Jonathan Ross out-talked by a woman
  2. You get to see the kind of speed the women of Swansea talk at if you’ve never seen it before (yes, lovely wife does talk that quickly)
  3. If you stick around until the end, you get a really cracking joke from Jo that leaves Jonathan speechless. Nice

Next time, it’ll be Adrenaline Junkie, where our Jo beats a bunch of blokes at powerboat racing and more. Cracking.

What have you been watching this week (w/e October 23)

A bit of an odd collection of viewing treats this week:

  • Mad Men – A very nice episode again. Can’t say much without revealing spoilers, but the “I’ve forgotten it” moment was very familiar, and I’m liking what’s going on with Don
  • House – Nothing too extraordinary this week, but good to see the producers sticking by their guns with the format changes
  • Modern Family – a good few titters this week, mostly involving Cameron
  • Community – still the funniest thing on TV by miles now. Lovely wife’s started watching and she’s loving it too
  • Dexter – you could see where it was all going right from the beginning, but still shocking nonetheless
  • Cougar Town – okay. Not great
  • Question Time – ha, ha, ha. What an exciting collection of stupid people and people who can’t construct arguments on both sides. And when did Jack Straw become such a waffler? I haven’t watched in a while, but when did they get rid of audience votes? And when did the audiences get so small (or was that purely for this edition?)
  • Stargate Universe – still liking it. Robert Carlyle’s really good, and they had the whole thing on the ship more or less, so no gating at this point, thank God.
  • Masterchef: The Professionals – I was only watching this out of one eye, since it’s more lovely wife’s choice of viewing. But correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t Greg Wallace merely say “Great flavours” to every dish or copy whatever the professional chef judge says? The man might as well be replaced by a giant set of ditto marks.

I really can’t be arsed to watch The Sarah Jane Adventures until David Tennant is on, so I’ve built up a backlog there. It may be Doctor Who, but it’s still a kids’ show. Being Erica we’re lagging on again; ditto, Curb Your Enthusiasm. I’ve given up on The Middle and Trauma.

Don’t forget everyone: Joanna Page is on the Jonathan Ross show tonight.

What have you been watching though?

As always, no spoilers unless you’re going to use the <spoiler> </spoiler> tags, please. If you’ve reviewed something on your blog, you can put a link to it here rather than repeat yourself (although too many links and you might get killed by the spam filter).

Meme of the week: Your ‘List’

So we know each other quite well now, I hope, don’t we? We share stuff, right? Okay, so this week’s quick, fun summer meme (first posed by lovely wife on our hols) asks

Who’s on your List?

You know about the List, right? From Friends? It’s the list of five famous people you’re allowed to sleep with if you meet them and your partner won’t mind. So who’s on yours?

Lovely wife also added this little fillip for advanced List makers: who are your alternates – the two you’d add to your List in case you switched sexual orientation?

For those really interested, mine are (in descending order of obviousness): Ali Larter, Joanna Page, Elizabeth Banks, Christina Applegate and Julie Benz. With the addition of Ryan Reynolds and George Clooney, in case of emergencies (although lovely wife thinks I’d get on well with Stephen Fry, too).

As always, leave a comment with your answer or a link to your answer on your own blog.
