In case you haven’t been following the comments over on the review of Saturday’s episodes of Spiral, I’ve had a couple of requests for episodic reviews of “the good French TV series”, as per last year. Anyone else want them? I’ll need a quorum, please.
I’m off on holiday for a week, so guard the blog well in my absence and feel free to use this entry to chat about any tele, movies or other media that might be of interest to others.
Brief reviews:
Mud Men: Johnny Vaughn does Time Team by himself by excavating the mud 1m around the edge of the Thames. Doesn’t quite work, but Vaughn’s good.
Being Human: This series is almost on the don’t watch list. God it’s boring this time round. What happened?
Being Human (US): Very good. Almost completely original ep and pretty good, funny, etc
Erm, that’s all I can remember as I head off to pack. Bye!
Here are the current top 20 pages on this here blog.
Some are easy to explain (Love Actually was on over Christmas a lot, for example), but why the mysterious love for Help… It’s The Hair Bear Bunch! Any ideas?
It’s that time again everyone. Time for my annual year-end break which some crazy people have decided to call “Christmas”.
As usual, I plan on doing precisely no work over the Christmas break, but I’ll be back with the news and more on January 3rd (well, maybe. The 4th definitely. Isn’t the 3rd a holiday?).
Survey time
As always, let’s take this as an opportunity to have a reader survey. What sorts of things would you like to see on this here blog in 2011? And what sort of things have outstayed their welcome? Not enough Scarlett Johansson? Too much Doctor Who? What do you reckon?
Leave your requests for more, less or the same below in the comments and I’ll decide what gets the chop and what stays alive when I get back.
In the meantime, a Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year to you all, thanks for reading and a great big thanks as always to everyone who’s left a comment for livening up the place!
