What time, TMINE? Including Evil and Mr Inbetween

Every Friday, TMINE lets you know when the latest TV shows from around the world will air in the UK

It’s been a month since the last WTT, since naturally there have been a whole bunch of premiere dates announced and new shows acquired. However, just so I maintain my sanity, I’m only going to deal with those announced this week.

All the same, that’s quite a lot. However, apart from BBC One’s acquisition of HBO Max’s Love Life, which will be ‘coming soon‘, they all have premiere dates.

Full details for Awkwafina is Nora From Queens, FBI: Most Wanted, Evil, 9-1-1: Lone Star, Tehran, The Sect, Emily in Paris, Take Two, The Family, Minority Report, and Mr Inbetween after the jump.

What time, TMINE? Including Ratched

Every Friday, TMINE lets you know when the latest TV shows from around the world will air in the UK

It’s the last What time, TMINE? before TMINE’s August break and naturally, since August is going to be a bit light for TV in general, there haven’t been too many new premiere dates announced or acquisitions made.

But there have been some.

Acquisitions

UK premiere dates

Ratched (Netflix)

UK premiere date: Friday, September 18

Ratched is a suspenseful drama series that tells the origin story of One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest’s asylum nurse Mildred Ratched. In 1947, Mildred arrives in Northern California to seek employment at a leading psychiatric hospital where new and unsettling experiments have begun on the human mind.

On a clandestine mission, Mildred presents herself as the perfect image of what a dedicated nurse should be, but the wheels are always turning and as she begins to infiltrate the mental health care system and those within it, Mildred’s stylish exterior belies a growing darkness that has long been smouldering within, revealing that true monsters are made, not born.

Stars: Sarah Paulson, Cynthia Nixon, Judy Davis, Sharon Stone, Jon Jon Briones, Finn Wittrock, Charlie Carver, Alice Englert, Amanda Plummer, Corey Stoll, Sophie Okonedo and Vincent D’Onofrio

What time, TMINE? Including Biohackers, Motherland: Fort Salem, Prodigal Son, The Last Wave and Katy Keene

Every Friday, TMINE lets you know when the latest TV shows from around the world will air in the UK

There are two weeks’ worth of premiere dates and acquisitions to catch up with this week, some of them imminent, thanks to my having taken a day off last Friday. And there’s a big bunch, too!

Premiere dates for Biohackers, Motherland: Fort Salem, Prodigal Son, The Last Wave and Katy Keene after the jump, but here are the new shows that have been acquired but don’t yet have launch dates.

Acquisitions

  • Walter Presents has gone on a spending spree and bought eight new shows:
    • Antena 3 (Spain)’s Bajo sospecha (Under Suspicion)
    • Club Illico (Canada)’s La Faille (The Wall – Cover Your Tracks)
    • Das Erste (Germany)’s Das Verschwinden (The Vanishing)
    • Movistar (Spain)’s El día de mañana (What The Future Holds)
    • Rai 1 (Italy)’s Imperial
    • Rai 2 (Italy)’s Il Cacciatore (The Hunter) and Rocco Schiavone: Ice Cold Murders
    • Viaplay (Sweden)’s Hassel
  • Netflix has acquired what was going to be a Paramount (US) show but is now going to be a Netflix exclusive: Emily in Paris. That’s going to be on some time this year.

What time, TMINE? Including Away and Westside

Every Friday, TMINE lets you know when the latest TV shows from around the world will air in the UK

Not many premiere dates this week, I’m afraid. In fact, just the one and it’s a Netflix original: Away. Details after the jump.

Acquisitions

  • Netflix has acquired Vier (Belgium)’s Soil. That will air in 2021
  • Sky Witness has acquired ABC (US)’s For Life, but there’s not even a hint as to when that will air

Oops, I missed it

Westside

Westside (New Zealand: TV3; UK: The Roku Channel)

To be fair, everyone else missed this, too, since it’s on The Roku Channel, the free channel available to anyone who has a Roku device. Nevertheless, it does appear to be the first time any channel in the UK has shown this.

The prequel to long-running crime drama Outrageous Fortune, Westside tells the story of legendary safe cracker and career criminal Ted West and his firecracker wife Rita. All five seasons (a sixth is on the way) are currently available.

Stars: Antonia Prebble, David de Lautour, Dan Musgrove

What time, TMINE? Including Lovecraft Country and Mrs America

Every Friday, TMINE lets you know when the latest TV shows from around the world will air in the UK

Lots of acquisitions this week, but only a couple of premiere dates, which I’ll be covering after the jump: Mrs America and Lovecraft Country.

One thing I should add before that though is that I’ve just noticed that Condor has actually moved in the UK from StarzPlay to Sky 1 – season one is now available as a boxset, while season 2 will start on July 15 at 9pm.
