Time got away from me on Friday so I didn’t manage to post any tranquillising pics of Dr David Tennant PhD for you all, I’m afraid. But never fear, I didn’t forget about you all and your need to see the good David sitting down at least once a week. Here’s this week’s points-winning picture, which comes from Erin C – as a low budget practice-run for the Great Blonde Elevator, it leaves a little to be desired, it has to be said, but each to his own.

Of course, you’re okay: it’s St David (Tennant)’s day. I do hope everyone has their leek or daffodil (complete with tin foil at the bottom to stop leakage) stapled to their lapel to celebrate. Or have you gone all Whoey and put celery in instead?

Over in the caption competition, the unsurprising winner was the returning Marie – clearly her break having rested whichever muscles Sitting Tennant uses, leaving her refreshed, vibrant and ready for more – with SK a close second (no points for that unfortunately). That takes us almost back to the days of Persephone-level communism with Jane Henry, Rullsenberg and Toby all at the top, and Rachel, ecg and Marie tying as well. We’ll have our tractors before years-end at this rate.

It’s Friday so that means it’s time for some tranquil pictures of David Tennant sitting down to help you while the weekend away. This week’s come from the usual generous group of Erin C, Karen, Rachel, Rullsenberg, Sabine, Sister Chastity and Toby, although Karen’s looks suspiciously like he’s merely crouching. We’ll generously assume there’s a very tiny seat out of shot.

Now a while ago (by which I mean a little over two weeks ago), I asked you all to keep an eye on me, because I knew I was going to cock up again. Well, Karen managed to disappear completely from the picture leaderboard for three whole Sitting Tennants and I’ve only just noticed.

You have to watch me like a hawk. Vigilance is the price of Sitting Tennant freedom: keep watching the leaderboard, remember to include your name in the filenames of any pictures you send in or else the Stalinists will win and erase you from the history books. That’s the moral of this story.
