It may nearly be Christmas, but luckily, we’re still getting new acquisitions and premiere dates. Only this week, we’ve seen the following shows acquired, for airing some time next year.

Premiere dates

Wisting (Norway: TV3; UK: BBC Four)
Premiere date: Saturday, December 28, 9pm
Wisting follows homicide detective William Wisting as he wrestles with the most challenging and shocking case of his career: a wanted American serial killer preying amongst them. Two FBI agents are brought in to help Wisting and his team apprehend the infamous killer who has eluded capture for years.
Meanwhile, Line – Wisting’s intrepid journalist daughter – is chasing headlines, leading her straight into the path of the serial killer. Suddenly, an old case comes back to haunt Wisting, and a dreadful accusation is hurled at him. How will Wisting save other lives when he finds himself suspended and fighting for his own reputation, career and life?

Messiah (Netflix)
Premiere date: Wednesday, January 1
Eva Geller is a CIA officer investigating a mysterious “miracle man” who’s developed a cult-like following across the globe. We see crowds of people flock to the prophet’s appearances in far-flung locales such as an active war zone in Syria, where he says he was simply “delivering a message” from his father. While his followers credit him with performing miracles, he manages to elude the authorities’ grasp, even when they think they have him in custody.
He says he’s doing “God’s work,” but is he actually just scamming people with fake miracles?

Locke & Key (Netflix)
Premiere date: Friday, February 7
Locke & Key tells the story of the three Locke siblings, who, after their father is murdered under mysterious circumstances, move with their mother into their ancestral home, Keyhouse, which they discover is full of magical keys that may be connected to their father’s death. As the Locke children explore the different keys and their unique powers, a mysterious demon awakens – and will stop at nothing to steal them.
