Thor: Ragnarok or The Incredible Hulk Returns – which will be better?

Not Ragnarok. Not even close

The Incredible Hulk Returns
Thor and the Hulk in The Incredible Hulk Returns

Thor: Ragnarok‘s out in UK cinemas today. In it, you’ll get to see Thor fighting both against and with The Incredible Hulk.

It’s not their first time, of course. You’re thinking of when Hulk let loose on the SHIELD carrier in The Avengers/Avengers Assemble aren’t you?

But there was a previous meeting. Back in the late 80s, Marvel was busily trying to launch all manner of superhero TV shows based on its comics. In particular, given that The Incredible Hulk had been an incredibly successful TV series in the 70s/early 80s, it decided to try to launch all manner of spin-offs off the back of some reunion movies for The Incredible Hulk. And The Incredible Hulk Returns was the movie chosen to try to create a Thor TV series.

Here’s a clip, in which Thor and the Hulk have a spat.

I’m reckoning that Thor: Ragnarok‘s going to be better. Call it a hunch.
