Sitting Tennant

Tuesday’s Sitting Tennant (week 12, 2012) – and the final ever caption competition winner is revealed

Shilohforever's Sitting Tennant

A fabulous bit of catching up Shilohforever, I’m sure you all agree.

  1. Sister Chastity, Shilohforever: 35
  2. Hebbie: 15

First off, let’s award an especially deserved final 10 points to Ms Rullsenberg for her inspired bit of captioning this week. That makes her the winner of March’s Sitting Tennant captioning competition. A big well done to her again!

  1. Rullsenberg: 30
  2. SK, Toby: 10

Tis a sad day, because it marks the end after nearly four years of the Sitting Tennant caption competition. There simply aren’t enough people feeling inspired enough to caption pictures of David Tennant sitting down any more, it seems. It’s been a great run and I’d like to thank everyone who’s ever contributed so much as a single caption to the competition over the years, but particularly those frequent contributors who’ve made it such a blast to run over the last few years, including Ms Rullsenberg, SK, Toby, Marie, Jane Henry, Electric Dragon, Lisa G, Virpi, Janice, Joe B, Dani, ecg, Rachel, whogal, Persephone, Jaradel, Sister Chastity, Rev/Views, and George. Those who have triumphed over the years will, of course, be remembered always:

Feel free to continue captioning non-competitively, of course, and the picture competition will continue. Good luck with this week’s picture-hunting everyone!

Got a picture of David Tennant sitting, lying down or in some indeterminate state in between? Then leave a link to it below or email me and if it’s judged suitable and doesn’t obviously infringe copyright, it will appear in the Sitting Tennant gallery. Don’t forget to include your name in the filename so I don’t get mixed up about who sent it to me.

The best pic in the stash each week will appear on Tuesday and get ten points; the runners up will appear on Friday (one per person who sends one in) and get five points.

Each month, I’ll name the best picture provider and then at the end of the year, the overall champion will be announced for 2012!

TMINE is moving to Disqus commenting

Well, I built this blog on rock and roll – aka Movable Type – which seemed like a good idea back in 2005, but not so much these days. It’s been lagging a bit (well, maybe not but since it’s all being done in Japanese now, how would I know?) over things like Facebook and Twitter integration, bug fixes, server stresses, spam fighting etc, so in a concerted effort to fix most of the problems, I’ve decided to move the blog commenting system over to Disqus.

This should offer all sorts of exciting features in the long run as well as in the short-term, but it’s all going to be in a state of flux for the next couple of days or so, while I iron out the bugs. At the moment, Disqus is importing all the blog’s comments (over 15,000 of them…) and it should have them imported within 24 hours or so. Until then, this place is going to be a bit schizophrenic.

Bear with me and it should all turn out fine soon enough! Thanks!
