Well, brace yourselves, because in January, The CW plans to unleash on the world The Carrie Diaries, a prequel to Sex and the City set in 1984 and based on Candace Bushnell’s own books. Now, I was expecting a certain level of dreadful to this, simply because at the very least it was going to look bad compared to the original, particularly since The CW isn’t exactly going to offer the same latitudes as HBO.
But OMG, this looks worse than I could possibly have imagined. It doesn’t help that Doctor Who‘s own Freema Agyeman appears to have completely lost the ability to act. If she had it once, it’s gone now. Oh dear.
