Last Monday, I gave you lucky people the chance to win the Complete Torchwood Collection on DVD. A week’s gone by, the competition is now closed and I can announce that the winner of the box set is…
…Laura Lott. As well as putting some of the most effort into her entry, she actually seems to want it, came up with the most plausible reasons for wanting it and didn’t malign the holy Welsh name of Roald Dahl (whose pass is just yards away from Torchwood’s back entrance in Cardiff). I’ll be in touch with her soon but if she sees this first and gets in touch with her postal address, I’ll be able to pop it in the post to her next week.
Tomorrow, the unveiling of the Twitter-based Doctor Who competition, in which you can win all of series 6 on DVD!
I’m Rob Buckley, a journalist who writes for UK media magazines that most people have never heard of although you might have heard me on the podcast Lockdown Land or Radio 5 Live’s Saturday Edition or Afternoon Edition. I’ve edited Dreamwatch, Sprocket and Cambridge Film Festival Daily; been technical editor for TV producers magazine Televisual; reviewed films for the short-lived newspaper Cambridge Insider; written features for the even shorter-lived newspaper Soho Independent; and was regularly sarcastic about television on the blink-and-you-missed-it “web site for urban hedonists” The Tribe. Since going freelance, I've contributed to the likes of Broadcast, Total Content + Media, Action TV, Off The Telly, Action Network, TV Scoop and The Custard TV.
There’s quite a nice interview with Steven Moffat over on Ain’t It Cool News, in which he discusses writing for Doctor Who, his new mini-series and that Comic Relief sketch.
