Review: Cracker – Nine Eleven

Cracker

In the UK: Sunday, ITV1, 1st October 2006

In the US: Airing as “Cracker: A New Terror”, October 30th, BBC America

Yes, I know it was on Sunday, but I only watched it last night.

I wasn’t much of a fan of Cracker. It all seemed a bit too forced and unlikely. But I was actually really impressed by Sunday’s one-off special. Maybe that’s because Fitz didn’t have much to do and other characters got more of a look-in.

In the UK: Fridays, 9pm, BBC2. Repeated Saturdays, 6.40pm on BBC2.

In the US: National Geographic at some point

Mitchell and Webb

In the UK: Thursdays, 9.30pm, BBC2. Repeated Tuesdays, 10.30pm, BBC3.

Well there’s surprising. A funny sketch show on BBC2. I wasn’t expecting that. I thought those days were long gone. Certainly, I wasn’t expecting it from Mitchell and Webb, whose Peep Show everyone keeps going on about but which I only found slightly amusing.

But this I actually look forward to each week. I’ve set the PVR and everything!

Guinness book of sci-fi conflict sorted

Remember all that fuss about which was the longest running sci-fi show: Stargate or Doctor Who? The Guinness Book of Records reckoned Stargate for some reason, but everyone else was scratching their head and pointing to Doctor Who.

Well, next year’s Guinness Book is going to set the record straight and go with Doctor Who instead. Hoorah!

UPDATE: Except it hasn’t. Stargate‘s still in there. Anyone worked out why?
