This year, apparently, I’m one of the Bloggers Running Britain. Who knew my power was so extensive. I even made it to page 3 of the Bromley News Shopper, beating out an alleged Biggin Hill paedo to top NIB of the week.
Is there a cash prize, I wonder, and should I use my powers for good or evil?
As you may remember, I was away for a little while in Las Vegas. It is, of course, as lovely as the TV shows suggest.
But we did a day trip and made the 4.5 hour drive to LA – naturally, it was the one day of the year it was raining – but we took in a few of the sights. After the jump, a few pictures from Hollywoodland for your enjoyment, including the Chinese Theater and the Walk of Fame.

I’ll do it for you if you pay me. I mean, let’s start with this week’s Catwoman #16. How are we spelling ‘assault’ here?
Okay, that’s just a relatively minor problem compared to some of the other typos in this week’s comics. Let’s move on to Aquaman #16. I appreciate Mera and Arthur (aka Aquaman) are underwater, but I really don’t think that’s the effect you’re trying to achieve in spelling your main character’s name wrong.
And then lastly, we have this in this week’s Superman #16. As if to add further insult to the injury of her being described as merely Superman’s ‘current lover’ in the next panel (yet more rebellion by Superman’s writers? The suggestion that it’s not going to last?), veering away from current DC shorthand (“the living goddess Wonder Woman”), we have Wonder Woman described as ‘Prince Diana of the Amazons’.
Prince, FFS.
DC – I know comics are a somewhat juvenile medium, but that doesn’t mean you have to spell like teenagers, too. Hire some proofreaders – it’s not like there’s much text for them to read, so it should be relatively cheap.
As Teh Internet knows, no girls actually like sci-fi, comic books, et al. Those that seem to like these traditionally geeky male domains? Faking it. Obviously.
But why? Why would they put on hipster glasses and bone up on Justice League members and Doctor Who continuity? What’s their motive? So far, Teh Internet has been silent on this topic. But now we know. Oh yes, now we know.
