Holiday meme of the week: Favourite overseas excursion?

A nice, simple meme this week, I hope, in keeping with the August spirit:

What’s your favourite TV show or TV episode filmed abroad?

So depending on how you feel like answering, it might simply be your favourite foreign TV show. It might be a whole TV show from your native country that’s filmed in another country (so Wallander if you’re from the UK or The Philanthropist if you’re American). It might be simply an episode (typically a Christmas episode) that’s been filmed in another country (eg Bones‘ season premier filmed in the UK). It’s up to you.

Mine, incidentally, is The Aphrodite Inheritance. But how about you?

As always, leave a comment with your answer or a link to your answer on your own blog.

Holiday weird old trailers: Blue Thunder (1983)

In a break from tradition, this week I’m giving you a weird old trailer rather than a weird old title sequence. No doubt you’re aware of the modern trend of trailer makers to include every single interesting part of a movie in the trailer, thus ruining the whole film (cf Obsessed for example, although some may argue that was pre-ruined).

However, as this trailer for Blue Thunder shows, this trend is anything but modern. Short of the final scene, there’s not much in the plot that isn’t in that trailer. In fact, the whole conspiracy is explained in it. Which is weird.

Cracking trailer though, even if the TV series was a lump of rubbish.
