Random Acts of Ali Larter: Interviewing, feeding the world’s poor and enjoying diamonds

Ali Larter at the Tacori launch

This week, Ali Larter’s been up to a lot. As well as getting ready for the fourth season of Heroes and pointing out that Obsession isn’t designed to be taken seriously, she was the special guest at the launch of Tacori’s 18k925 range of diamonds.

For those that want to know, that’s a Tacori 18K925 Barbados blue pendant with a yellow gold and diamond crescent silhouette frame, layered with an 18k925 Rockin Oval-link necklace; her Tacori 18k925 ring was yellow gold and clear rose-cut quartz with diamonds; and her Tacori 18k925 earrings were citrine quartz studs.

UPDATE: You can now bid in an auction to own those jewels, all proceeds going to one of Ali’s favourite charities, the Art of Elysium.

Also on hand was Mad Men‘s Christina Hendricks.

Ali Larter and Christine Hendricks

Equally importantly – but more randomly – she’s been off to St Louis to interview Professor Mark Manary of the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center. Which as randomness goes is pretty random. Pourquoi, Ali?

Well, Manary runs the Peanut Butter Project and contributes to the Global Harvest Alliance, both of which try to eradicate malnutrition throughout the developing world. Our Ali, who’s passionate about ending world hunger, was interviewing him for a segment on the AT&T U-Verse subscriber channel.

Blimey. What’s she going to be up to next week?

Have you seen Ali Larter acting randomly? If so, let us know and we’ll tell everyone about it in "Random Acts of Ali Larter"

The end of civilisation: My Ugly Best Friend

Do you ever feel there’s still a respectable use for sarin gas?

MY UGLY BEST FRIEND

My Ugly Best Friend is a brand new show where a glamour puss nominates her ugly duckling best friend for a makeover and we need men to rate these two girls!

Whether you like blondes or brunettes, tall girls or short girls – if you have an opinion and know what you like, then we’d love to hear from you!

You will be watching video footage of our two friends and then being asked to comment on everything from their noses to their clothes but don’t worry; you won’t have to meet the girls in the flesh.

We are shooting the show this Sunday, 20th September at 9.00 in the morning in Brick Lane so if you fancy taking part, then apply now! Remember, this is a show for the chaps. Ladies, we look forward to seeing you one of our other shows!

Everyone involved should be very, very ashamed of themselves/locked in a vault/eaten by weevils (delete as applicable). And no, I won’t link to where you can get tickets for it.

Meme of the week: Fantasy scheduling

So suddenly, you get the call. Despite never having applied for the position, you’ve suddenly been appointed Head of Scheduling at your favourite TV channel. You’ve been given carte blanche to fill the schedules how you like, and you have the budget to acquire and even make whatever you want.

What’s your schedule like?

Obviously, what’s suitable for Saturday night viewing isn’t necessarily suitable for Sunday or Friday night. So you can restrict yourself to a single day or even a single evening. But it’s up to you: any time slots, any channel.

As always, leave a comment with your answer or a link to your answer on your own blog.
