Trailers for all the new Fox shows including Gotham, Gracechurch, Backstrom, Empire and Hieroglyph

Yesterday, we saw NBC get its act together and put out some trailers for all the new shows starting Fall 2014. Admittedly, it hadn’t got its act together as far as programming was concerned, but at least it had some trailers.

Now it’s Fox’s turn to show us (some of) what it’s got and it turns out to be considerably better: Batman prequel GothamBroadchurch remake Gracepoint (complete with David Tennant), an adaptation of Leif G.W. Persson’s Backstrom books, hip hop/crime drama Empire, ancient Egyptian fun Hieroglyph and M. Night Shyamalan suspenser Wayward Pines.

No bonus points if you make it to the end of these.

Trailers for all the new NBC shows: State of Affairs, Marry Me, A to Z, Bad Judge, Constantine and The Mysteries of Laura

You may have noticed that NBC today announced a whole slew of new shows for its Fall 2014-15 season. For once, it’s also got its act together and created some trailers for most of them, and you can watch them after the jump. Brace yourselves for State of Affairs, Marry Me and a whole bunch of other shows that don’t look that great and will last a season at most. Bonus points if you can make it all the way to the end of each trailer; for extra bonus points, try to work out what accent John Constantine is supposed to have.

Some weird comedy from the BBC comedy archives that you’ll have no memory of

Look, it’s Bruiser with Martin Freeman!

And here’s Sacha Baron Cohen’s Christo from Comedy Nation, which you also won’t remember!

You can see more on BBC2 tonight, apparently, on The Comedy Vaults: BBC Two’s Hidden Treasure. I’m looking forward to the 1984 Madness, written by Ben Elton and Richard Curtis after the band had appeared on The Young Ones. The premise is that Margaret Thatcher was a space alien who had been recalled to Mars – then replaced as Prime Minister by Suggs with his bandmates as the Cabinet, who met in a room above a cafe. Seems plausible.

Less plausible is that was 30 years ago.
