Galaxy Quest was a brilliant 1999 movie about a fake TV series called Galaxy Quest (which bears more than a passing resemblance to Star Trek and certain other sci-fi shows, in both the fake onscreen and fake off-screen moments), its cast and its fans. If you haven’t watched it, you really should, since it stars Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver, Alan Rickman, Tony Shalhoub, Sam Rockwell, Robin Sachs, Missi Pyle and Justin Long – and is very funny.
You can buy it on DVD or Blu-Ray.
But even dedicated Galaxy Quest fans might not know that when Galaxy Quest came out, E! created a mockumentary about the show for its ’20th anniversary’ that included interviews with the cast in-character, as well as footage that wasn’t included in the film. Guess what I just found, though:
