What do you want from the blog this year?

As usual, it’s the annual/whenever I get wibbles question for the readership – what do you want to see more of or less of on the blog?

  • We already discovered that a few people liked the reviews of the main Big Finish Doctor Who audio plays (Eternal Summer one coming soon) so they’re staying, but do you want reviews of other Big Finish ranges, assuming I can take it?
  • Daily News is staying
  • More Who/less Who?
  • More Sitting Tennant/less Sitting Tennant?
  • Weird Old Title Sequences?
  • Fewer/more Dick Heads?
  • More/fewer reviews of British shows (although how fewer would be possible, I don’t know)?
  • More/fewer reviews of American shows? Or timed to appear at different times?
  • Episode-by-episode reviews of any particular series?
  • More/fewer competitions or types of competitions (District 9 one coming up soon, maybe)?
  • More/less technology stuff?
  • Question of the week?
  • What have you been watching?

I’ll just say hands off Ali and Jo – they’re staying, although, if anyone wants, say, “Julie Benz on/and hedges”, that would be perfectly acceptable. Indeed, any suggestions for new features that don’t require an immense amount of work will be entertained.

I’m Rob Buckley, a journalist who writes for UK media magazines that most people have never heard of although you might have heard me on the podcast Lockdown Land or Radio 5 Live’s Saturday Edition or Afternoon Edition. I’ve edited Dreamwatch, Sprocket and Cambridge Film Festival Daily; been technical editor for TV producers magazine Televisual; reviewed films for the short-lived newspaper Cambridge Insider; written features for the even shorter-lived newspaper Soho Independent; and was regularly sarcastic about television on the blink-and-you-missed-it “web site for urban hedonists” The Tribe. Since going freelance, I've contributed to the likes of Broadcast, Total Content + Media, Action TV, Off The Telly, Action Network, TV Scoop and The Custard TV.
