Doctor Who: Planet of the Dead – Your reviews please

David Tennant playing in the sand

I’m busy. Very very busy. And I’m away in Swansea at the moment. Chances of reviewing Planet of the Dead this week – practically zero.

But let this entry act as a rallying act for your own thoughts and reviews. After it’s aired, let us know what you thought or drop off a link to a review on your own blog if you prefer.

Hope you’re enjoying Easter!

Today’s Sitting Tennants (from Rullsenberg and Jaradel)

David Tennant

A day early to give you all some holiday time and a day of preparation for the excitement of the Easter Special, Planet of the Dead, Sitting Tennant is here, bursting with pictures of David Tennant taking it easy thanks to Rullsenberg and Jaradel. Here we see him traumatised and thinking of times past after an obviously awkward lunch with the Doctor Who producers in which no one felt they could discuss that fishing trip incident.

Thanks to Jaradel’s topicality and Sister Chastity performing penance of some kind, the leaderboard now stands as follows:

  1. Rullsenberg: 16.5
  2. Jaradel: 13
  3. Sister Chastity: 11.5
  4. Rosby: 2.5

I do have a big pile of pics from Jaradel and Rullsenberg, so I’m not sure what to do to clear the backlog. More Sitting Tennants? More Tennants sitting per Sitting Tennant? Rationing? Some kind of quota system. Any ideas?

Meanwhile, back at the witty caption competition, Marie tried to use Gary Numan lyrics without knowing any and thus was unable to use them appropriately.

Never trifle with Gary Numan, Marie.

Nevertheless, she still got wittiest caption point for picture 1 for her second musical entry. Persephone gets point two while Jane Henry picks up the third witty point. That means it’s all change at the top again!

  1. Marie: 71.5
  2. Toby: 71
  3. Jane Henry: 48.5
  4. Rullsenberg: 43.5
  5. Persephone: 38.5
  6. Jaradel: 30.5
  7. Electric Dragon: 15
  8. Rev/Views 10
  9. Scott: 3
  10. Aaron: 2
  11. almostwitty.com: 1

As always, captions and new submissions for the gallery, please. Remember, you can submit as many (witty) captions as you like for each and every picture, with topical captions (and pictures of David Tennant in current productions) getting extra marks. The wittiest caption for each picture will get double points. And there’s a bonus point for using Gary Numan lyrics appropriately.

Got a picture of David Tennant sitting, lying down or in some indeterminate state in between? Then leave a link to it below and if it’s judged suitable, it will appear in the “Sitting Tennant” gallery. You can also enter the witting and amusing captions league table by commenting on existing photos in the gallery.

What have you been watching this week (w/e 9th April)?

A day earlier than usual – because most of the UK will have better things to do tomorrow than read this blog and answer questions about telly – it’s time to ask about what you’ve been watching this week and whether you have any recommendations/warnings to issue fellow blog readers?

Stewart Lee is proving a bit disappointing after a good start; Newswipe is still a bit tepid and I’m thinking of giving up on it; Lost was good this week; 24 was only okay. But it’s been a bit dull overall for me TV-wise. How’s it been for you?

C4 apologises to Mac users over 4oD

Got a Mac? Been cursing Channel 4’s name for ages since you couldn’t use its 4oD video-on-demand service because it was Windows-only?

Channel 4 would like to apologise to you then, and point out it’s made 4oD available to us as well now.

No really.

It’s even made an advert about it.
