For once, the funniest thing on TV last week wasn’t Community or The Thick of It but Supernatural. Changing Channels saw our heroes thrown into an alternative TV universe, in which rather than having to slay demons and ghosts, they have to survive Japanese game shows, CSI: Miami and Grey’s Anatomy.

After the jump, clips of the best bits, but first a promo and the alternative title sequence for this episode to give you an idea of the flavour.

I’ve edited Dreamwatch, Sprocket and Cambridge Film Festival Daily; been technical editor for TV producers magazine Televisual; reviewed films for the short-lived newspaper Cambridge Insider; written features for the even shorter-lived newspaper Soho Independent; and was regularly sarcastic about television on the blink-and-you-missed-it “web site for urban hedonists” The Tribe.
