Monday’s Sitting Tennants from the dynamic trio

Jaradel's Sitting Tennant

Sister Chastity's Sitting Tennant shows David Tennant learning lines for St Trinian's 2

Sigh. He’s so dreamy. Bonus point to Sister Chastity for sneaking up to David’s trailer and taking a picture of him learning lines for St Trinian’s 2.

ITV1 ad – cognitive dissonance

This ad is called Sunshine and it’s currently appearing in cinemas. It’s quite lovely. It’s also for ITV1. Can someone explain how these two things are related?

I can sort of squint and see it: watching ITV1 is like sunshine on a rainy day. But the question is: has the person who came up with this advert seen ITV1 recently?

As a side note, I listened to Michael Grade claiming on Simon Mayo’s show recently that ITV1 was the number one channel in the UK and should replace BBC1 in the top slot. Anyone believe that for a second?

Sitting Tennant

Friday’s Sitting Tennant (from Sister Chastity): Young Naked Tennant

A Sitting Tennant provided by Sister Chastity

To be shelterless and alone in the open country, hearing the wind moan and watching for day through the whole long weary night; to listen to the falling rain, and crouch for warmth beneath the lee of some old barn or rick, or in the hollow of a tree; are dismal things.

Fortunately, we have Sitting Tennant to warm us up. Today’s Sitting Tennant has been provided by Sister Chastity and will stare at you all week long to fill your heart with joy and your mind with ideas.

For captions, obviously.

With that, we see that Sister Chastity is close – very close – to Ms Rullsenberg. What will happen next week I wonder?

  1. Rullsenberg: 39.5
  2. Sister Chastity: 38
  3. Jaradel: 26.5
  4. Rosby: 2.5
  5. Amy: 2
  6. Persephone: 1

Meanwhile, over in witty captions, despite valiant attempts by others, Marie has managed to extend her lead with a very witty caption indeed. Ooh. But surely everyone else hasn’t given up, have they? Has rain really stopped play?

  1. Marie: 142.5
  2. Toby: 131.5
  3. Rullsenberg: 92
  4. Jane Henry: 70.5
  5. Persephone: 45.5
  6. Jaradel: 38.5
  7. Electric Dragon: 31

Remember, you can submit as many captions as you like for today’s picture, with the wittiest getting 10 points next Friday.

What have you been watching this week (w/e 17 July)?

Fess up. With so much rain pouring down, you must have been watching TV at some point. But what did you watch and was it any good?

I’ve a bit of a backlog, but I’ve been watching a few things, some of which I’ve now reviewed. I’ve yet to watch Jerry Bruckheimer’s Dark Blue but I’m sure I’ll get round to it later today – ditto Burn Notice and episode two of 10 Things I Hate About You. I’ve also got the start of the fourth season of LA Ink in the queue for lovely wife, since she loves Kat von D, but I’ll probably skip that.

Royal Pains from last night was pretty good – good development for all the characters and some good interplay between them. Episode 2 of Warehouse 13 was a lot better than episode one, but still left a few things to be desired. Hung seemed to jump off into pastures new, away from gender politics per se, in favour of general economic issues. I have a suspicion it’s going to end up unclassifiable at this rate.

Dragons’ Den was back on top form, and surprisingly funny and laid back. And Top Gear wasn’t bad at all, as per usual.

What about yourselves?
