Clerks 2 trailer(s) online

Clerks then and now

They all might be a little older now, but the cast of Kevin Smith’s Clerks have got together for Clerks 2, coming to a cinema near you soon. As if that weren’t enough, most of the cast of My Name is Earl is joining them, including Jason Lee (complete with moustache), who appeared in Smith’s under-rated Mallrats and over-rated Dogma.

Now, there’s an official trailer on the Apple web site (QuickTime required), that frankly isn’t very funny. I was a bit despondent after watching it: although there’s an hilariously disturbing riff on Silence of the Lambs, most of the rest of it sucks.

Fortunately, there are other Internet-exclusive trailers available on YouTube that I heartily recommend you watch instead, even though the vid quality’s lower.

This one starts with that SotL take-off. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

This one’s not as fun, but still palatable, providing you can cope with heavy metal.
