What time, TMINE? Including The Truth Will Out, Finding Joy and AP Bio

Every Friday, TMINE lets you know when the latest TV shows from around the world will air in the UK

Crikey. It’s been all go this week. Not so much in terms of acquisitions, but in terms of premiere dates for existing acquisitions being announced.

The only acquisition this week was The CW (US)’s Batwoman by E4, which is odd because all the other The CW superhero shows are on Sky1. Apart from Black Lightning, which is on Netflix. Okay, maybe not so odd, but it’s going to make all those Arrowverse crossovers a nightmare to watch. Particularly since Batwoman is only set to air “some time in 2020” on E4.

But now, please join me after the jump to learn the premiere dates of Det som göms i snö (The Truth Will Out), Finding Joy, AP Bio, The Stranger, and War of the Worlds (no, not that one).

And oh yes, as predicted last week, Miracle Workers will definitely start on Monday, January 27, at 9pm. And if you’ve not already caught Sthlm Rekviem (Stockholm Requiem) on S4C Clic, it’ll be starting on Channel 4 on Sunday, January 26 at 11pm.

What time, TMINE? Including Treadstone and Stockholm Requiem

So here’s a developing trend – shows being acquired before they’ve even been made, of which we’ve had quite a few this week. The drawback of these is that you can’t tell when they’re going to air because they’ve not aired in their native countries yet. And, of course, you can’t read my reviews of them to see if they’re worth bothering with.

Still, it is what it is. But we do at least have a couple of shows with actual premiere dates, you’ll be glad to hear.

TV3 (Norway)’s Wisting

Acquisitions

  • The BBC has picked up Viaplay/TV2/SVT (Scandinavia)’s Utredningen (The Investigation). That’s still being made
  • Walter Presents has acquired Één (Belgium)’s De Twaalf (The Twelve). No airdate yet, because it’s Walter
  • Amazon’s got hold of the latest spin-off from AMC (US)’s The Walking Dead. That’s so new, it doesn’t even have a title yet, so the best guess is “some time in 2020”
  • This very day, BBC Four has acquired TV3 (Norway)’s Wisting. That’ll air some time this year.

After the jump, though, details and premiere dates for Jason Bourne spin-off Treadstone and Scandi Noir Sthlm Rekviem (Stockholm Requiem).

What time, TMINE? Including Those Who Kill, Detective Cain, The Hot Zone, The I-Land, City on a Hill, Bard of Blood and Living With Yourself

Every Friday, TMINE lets you know when the latest TV shows from around the world will air in the UK

What time, TMINE? has been away for a month now, and it would madness – madness, I tell you! – for me to try to round up four weeks’ worth of acquisitions and premiere dates.

So, instead, let’s pretend nothing’s happened over the past month and everything started off fresh and new from Monday*. And, in fact, there’s been a real splurge of acquisitions this week, although not all of them have premiere dates yet.

*Actually, I have been keeping an eye on things and there haven’t been that many acquisitions in the past month. So I’m not missing much out.

Acquisitions

  • BBC Two has picked up ZDF (Germany)/ORF (Austria)’s Vienna Blood. That’ll air later this year
  • Walter Presents has acquires C More/TV4 (Sweden)’s Sthlm Rekviem (Stockholm Requiem)
  • Sky is to launch Sky Comedy and Sky Crime channels in February 2020, for which it has acquired NBC (US)’s AP Bio and Sunnyside
  • BBC Three has acquired NRK (Norway)’s Nudes
  • The Beeb (don’t know which channel) has acquired the new adaptation of Jules Verne’s Around the World in 80 Days being produced by an alliance of European pubcasters

After the jump, premiere dates for Den som dræber (Darkness: Those Who Kill), Caïn (Detective Cain), The Hot Zone, The I-Land, City on a Hill, Bard of Blood, and Living With Yourself.
