That’s what he reckons anyway. He wants to do more movies.
British spies season: more details emerge

I gave the BBC press office a call yesterday to find out what was going to be in BBC4’s British Spies season. Well, I emailed them: they don’t take calls. Eventually, ‘Clive’ got back to me: at the moment, details are a bit sketchy apparently and they’re not quite sure yet. He’ll email me some more information soon, he promised.
So, to find out more, we’re going to have to use an advanced investigative journalist’s tool: the Radio Times.

Yet another spurious list: the Radio Times’ worst British TV programmes ever
If you need a bit of publicity, create a spurious list. The Radio Times has put together a list of the ten worst shows in British TV history or something. They are
- Naked Jungle (2000)
- Minipops (1983)
- Triangle (1981-83)
- Quickfire Balls (Avago) (2006)
- Annie’s Bar (1996)
- Wright Here, Wright Now (2002)
- Love Thy Neighbour (1972-76)
- Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends (1984-91)
- Through The Keyhole (1983-)
- A Year In Provence (1993)
Wow. You really have to have watched very little TV if you think they’re the worst. And Thomas is in there because it portrays “a workplace riven by class envy where bitching, brown-nosing and backstabbing are the norm”!
They are in such trouble. I will not have anyone maligning that delightful little tank engine.
Seriously, where’s Touch The Truck or any Big Brother spin-off? Where’s Love Island? Your Face or Mine or anything else with Jimmy Carr? There are huge chunks of unmined BBC3 out there and the entire ITV1 schedule should be compressed onto a microdot, just so it could fit on the list. Have we forgotten Prime Minister Harold Wilson’s chat show so quickly and what of the unmitigated horror that was Network 7? Ultimate Force?
Anyway, what would you put on your list? Secret Smile, perhaps?
UPDATE: The full top 50 is over here. Thanks OTT!
Stargate comes to an end
The Sci-Fi Channel in the US has confirmed that it’s finally putting Stargate out of its misery and won’t be renewing the series for yet another season. Stargate: Atlantis will continue, however.
Anyone want to say for sure when Stargate‘s natural death point actually was? At the very least, a season and a bit ago, I reckon. Anyone want to go back further than that?
Preview: Justice
In the US: Wednesdays, Fox, 9/8c. Starts August 30th.
In the UK: Airing on Living TV, starting in 2007.
Remember when CSI first came along? Wasn’t it revolutionary? Didn’t it change cop shows completely? I think Justice is going to do the same for lawyer shows. And surprise, surprise, it’s a Jerry Bruckheimer production.
