Quite a good documentary on the Blade Runner phenomenon is available on Google Video. It’s presented by Mark Kermode and aired on Channel 4 originally, featuring interviews with almost everyone except Harrison Ford and Sean Young.

Tickets may already have sold out, but if they haven’t and you’re not off to a fireworks display like me, there’s a couple of tele events at the NFT this Saturday that look interesting. Gerry Anderson, creator of Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet, et al is going to talk about his days at ITC. To get you up to speed with ITC, preceding that will be a Gallop Through the Archives, with clips from various ITC shows, as well as a full episode of The Buccaneers. Both sound fun, so book if you can.
Mike Nelson’s clearly got a skill – making fake directors’ commentaries for bad movies. He wrote and starred in Mystery Science Theater 3000, in which he and others would comment on bad movies. He’s launched RiffTrax, in which he makes fake directors’ commentaries. But now he’s joined forces with his old Mystery Science Theater 3000 buddies for The Film Crew to… make fake directors’ commentaries for bad movies.
Enough already, guys. We get the point.
It’s moved to a Friday-night slot and it looks like it’s been cut back to 13 episodes: Vanished is about to disappear, it seems.
