Competition winners!

Time to announce the competition winners. As you may recall, two £25 Amazon.co.uk vouchers courtesy of vouchercodes.co.uk were up for grabs for whomever could answer the apparently simple question:

David Tennant or John Barrowman? And why?

We had a multitude of answers, some heartfelt, some offhand, some comedic, some stone cold dead serious. But after a good deal of soul-searching, I’ve finally decided that the following people should win the vouchers:

Those nice vouchercodes people should be in touch with you both soon, if they haven’t been already.

Most of the answers to the competition were submitted as comments to the blog, but after the jump, those few answers sent directly to me, just for the sake of transparency and to see how entertaining those answers were, too.

Well done everybody – you all did yourselves proud!

Competition time: win one of two £25 Amazon.co.uk vouchers

amazonlogo.pngIt’s competition time again at The Medium Is Not Enough. Yes, a chance to win actual – not virtual – prizes that are loads more useful than one of my sarcastic TV reviews.

This time, two lucky people will each be getting a £25 Amazon.co.uk gift voucher to spend on what they wish, whether it’s a DVD of Painting With Nancy, a pair of Spiderman pyjamas or something even more desirable* – the choice will be theirs.

All you have to do to enter (subject to the Terms and Conditions) is to email me or leave a non-anonymous comment below answering the following question

David Tennant or John Barrowman? And why?

You have until midnight on the 25th October 2009 to enter, with the two most entertaining/interesting/erotic/whatever answers getting the vouchers. The results will go up here on the 26th October 2009.

In case you think I’ve become strangely generous of late, this exciting competition is largely the result of vouchercodes.co.uk. VoucherCodes.co.uk brings together the best deals on the web and puts them in one place. You can pick up Sky Offer Codes, Currys Discount Codes or even use a LoveFilm Discount Code to help enjoy TV for cheaper. They do good Pizza Express and Zizzi vouchers, too, mind.

* For those who voted for the The Prisoner DVD box set, that’s currently £25 so guess what you can use your voucher on if you win.

Sitting Tennant

Friday’s Sitting Tennant (from Sabine): Dreams

Sabine's Sitting Tennant

Sitting. It’s a very hard word to define precisely. We’ve stretched it a bit to incorporate David Tennant lying backward. But now the returning Sabine has challenged our understanding of ‘sitting’ with this picture in which he is lying forward. Is he still ‘sitting’?

I sense an exhibition coming on.

Anyway, she gets the three points. Don’t quibble.

  1. Rullsenberg: 63.5
  2. Sister Chastity: 60.5
  3. Jaradel: 35.5
  4. Karen: 10
  5. Toby: 5
  6. Amy, Lauren, Sabine: 4
  7. Rosby: 2.5
  8. Persephone: 1

There was some fearsome competition over in captions, but finally Toby leapt in at the last minute with a tale of an even more cut-throat competition, that won him the 10 points and the lead.

Good luck ye one and ye all: may the force be with ye.

  1. Toby: 186.5
  2. Marie: 182.5
  3. Rullsenberg: 137
  4. Electric Dragon: 76
  5. Jane Henry: 75.5
  6. Persephone: 45.5
  7. Jaradel: 38.5
  8. Rev/Views: 25
  9. Joe: 20
  10. Sister Chastity: 15
  11. Scott 2: 14
  12. George: 10
  13. Scott: 3
  14. Aaron: 2
  15. almostwitty.com: 1
  16. Stu_N: 1

Got a picture of David Tennant sitting, lying down or in some indeterminate state in between? Then leave a link to it below or email me and if it’s judged suitable, it will appear in the “Sitting Tennant” gallery.

Every photo displayed on Monday (one per person who sends one in) gets a point, with a bonus point if it’s from the latest DT production; the best pic in the stash each week will appear on Friday and get three points.

You can also enter the witty and amusing captions league table by commenting on Friday’s Sitting Tennant photo, the best caption getting 10 points, everyone who contributes getting five points.
