Holiday time

Although it seems like I’ve been back since I went on my pilgrimage, I’m off for a week to Norfolk for a well-earned vacation. They don’t have the Internet in Norfolk, apparently, so the chances of my blogging anything – particularly the daily news page – are quite small, but I should be back at the start of June.

Happily, the next episode of Doctor Who is a two-parter so I can pretend to be taking the reviewing high ground and pick holes in the pair of them when I get back. I’ll leave you under the watchful gaze of The Carusometer until I return, so enjoy yourselves!

Paxo and Charlie Rose

It’s not quite UK Paxman vs US Paxman, since Charlie Rose is more of a Tim Sebastian than a Jeremy Paxman, but this ‘ere hour-long interview is pretty interesting. Plus you get to see Paxo aging gracefully over the years. Kept me occupied on the train this morning, anyway.

TMINE

First episode of Sanctuary available

It claims to be the first “broadcast quality” science fiction show for the web (anyone want to debate that?). You can view the first four episodes of Sanctuary, starring Amanda Tapping from Stargate SG-1 as a British person, over on the web site. But you can view the first episode below.

I would mock the British bits but I’ve already been indulging myself with Lost‘s latest recreation of London

Lost does Covent Garden

Tee hee! That’s Covent Garden.

My pilgrimage

As mentioned yesterday, I’m off on a pilgrimage for a few days, meaning that my daily news updates might be few and far between for a while (although who knows). I should be back on Thursday and depending on my state of jet lag, updates should then begin as per normal.

Hopefully, depending on my work schedule, I should be able to provide you with some actual, you know, reviews and stuff, as well, and I have high hopes of providing reviews of the current season finales, but we’ll see.

Where am I going? Where else, but Miami, of course!

The Carusometer is taking its sunglasses on and off so quickly, it’s just a blur of excitement. Maybe I’ll have to take it in for re-calibration.

Friends don’t let Friends use Windows 95

Remember Windows 95? Actually, some of you here are probably too young to. Blimey, that’s depressing…

Stay on target, Rob. Anyway, “revolution” that it was (it was mostly 32-bit and everything. Ooh), it was still a bit tricky to use.

Fortunately, that nice Matthew Perry and Jennifer Aniston made a lovely little training video, some time between seasons one and two of Friends, to help everyone adjust. Part one’s below; their credibility is somewhere else, probably trapped under Ricky Gervais’s.
