I’m Rob Buckley, a journalist who writes for UK media magazines that most people have never heard of although you might have heard me on the podcast Lockdown Land or Radio 5 Live’s Saturday Edition or Afternoon Edition. I’ve edited Dreamwatch, Sprocket and Cambridge Film Festival Daily; been technical editor for TV producers magazine Televisual; reviewed films for the short-lived newspaper Cambridge Insider; written features for the even shorter-lived newspaper Soho Independent; and was regularly sarcastic about television on the blink-and-you-missed-it “web site for urban hedonists” The Tribe. FlashForward – The first 16 minutes

FlashForward (or Flash Forward, depending on whom you talk to) is ABC’s attempt at a new Lost. The network has had precious little new of note in its schedules for a while, and has been cancelling just about everything in sight (eg Pushing Daisies, Eli Stone), so it’s got high hopes that FlashForward will fill the hole that Lost will leave next year.

I’ve talked about FlashForward already (everyone in the world blacks out for a couple of minutes and sees parts of their own future) and given you some trailers, but Comic-Con attendees got to see the first 16 minutes of the pilot episode. Now, in glorious shakycam vision, you can, too. What do you think, assuming you’ve recovered from the headache you probably now have?
