I love Greenwich. It’s great. Best bit of London. One of the most heartbreaking bits of Thor 2 was seeing it all smashed up.
But how about this as a great way to get people to visit:
It’s Mjölnir! It’s outside Devonport House next to the National Maritime Museum, apparently. Hopefully, it’ll do a better job of looking after the Old Naval College than in the movie.

Okay, technically this is more a movie than a play, but given it’s an adaptation by Nigel Kneale, I’m going to let it off.
A 1983 horror novella written in gothic style by Susan Hill, The Woman in Black concerns a mysterious ghost that haunts an English seaside town, heralding the death of children. Largely an investigation by solicitor Arthur Kipps, it follows his attempts to discover who the mysterious woman he sees around town is. Let’s just say he’s not pleased by the discovery.
Adapted more recently by Hammer Horror with Daniel Radcliffe in the starring role and more famously as a play in the West End, where it’s the longest running show after The Mousetrap, it was adapted for television by Nigel Kneale back in 1989. Despite featuring Adrian Rawlins as an ‘Arthur Kidd’ (sic), it was a considerably more faithful adaptation than the movie or the play. And you can watch it below, preferably in the dark.

One of the biggest complaints about the nu52 version of Wonder Woman has been that she’s not especially wondrous. In her own title, largely she plays second fiddle to others, whose help she always seems to need and who end up saving the day, while Wondy looks on bewildered, usually having learnt something very very important that requires her to apologise to someone, probably male. In other titles, she shows up and, with a few honourable exceptions (eg Supergirl #17), doesn’t do very much either – was there much point to that Batwoman crossover a while back? I don’t think so.
So when Superman/Wonder Woman was announced, there was a great deal of concern among fans, not just because of the title, that Wonder Woman would again be the B-team to a male character, an ancillary companion in need of constant rescuing by her male counterpart and whose mythos and personality would be subsumed under the banner of ‘Superman’s super squeeze’.
Now, five issues in, it’s clear that these worries are largely unwarranted. Because, to pull a reverse-Kenobi on Wonder Woman fans, this is the comic book you’ve been looking for.
