New Girl‘s Zooey Deschanel and The Avengers‘ Samuel L Jackson both have an iPhone 4s and no friends it seems. And they’d like you to be the same as them.
I wonder if they’ll redub them for overseas, seeing as Siri’s voice is different for different markets. Over here, Siri is a guy, for one thing.
The question is, do they make you want to buy an iPhone 4s? I already have one and I will admit that the ads do at least make me want to try Siri more than I have already – I look on the ads as the instruction manuals I never got for Siri (“Wow. I never knew it could do that and I’ve had it for six months and I write about them for a living…”).

It’s a promo video for the Alien prequel, Prometheus. But it’s interesting in its own right, don’t you think?
Yesterday, I demonstrated how unhip I am in my review of Girls.
At the moment, though, I can only marvel at the talent of Lena Durham, wonder how she managed to surround herself with so many non-descript other actresses who make no impression beyond their accent (in the British character’s case)
And yet, as this pastiche of HBO’s advertising poster for Girls shows, they are all well-known, but only in certain circles…

The Avengers market machine is really kicking into high gear now. Monday night’s episode of Castle on ABC saw Robert Downey Jr and Nathan Fillion doing a little product placement together instead of the usual “Next week on Castle…” promo. It’s not half bad.
Of course, Nathan Fillion should have pointed out that he’s Green Lantern to have really had a shot at one-upmanship.
