Find out what would have happened in Smith
Smith may have gone from US TV screens, but it lives on online. CBS is going to sell all seven completed episodes via iTunes, AOL and Amazon.com and show them free for a month on its Innertube service. All of those are US only. Sorry.
UPDATE: Ooh, ooh! Innertube works in the UK for once! UK viewers can watch all those Smith episodes right now. Or they can wait till ITV airs them. I also forgot to mention that there are copious production notes on the CBS site that explain what would have happened in the subsequent episodes that didn’t get filmed.
UPDATE 2: Actually, only episode 4 is viewable in the UK. Maybe the earlier ones are, too, but 5 and 6 aren’t. Bugger.

David Duchovny gets his own show(s) again
The multi-talented David Duchovny (I’ll leave you to decide what those talents are, since opinions vary) is working on not one, but two shows for US network Showtime. The first, in which he’ll star, sounds a bit Red Shoe Diaries-ish and features a sex- and drug-addicted novelist trying to raise his son. The second, which he’s writing, will be a comedy set in a yoga studio.

Manchild remake’s cast gets even better
As mentioned yesterday, Showtime is remaking the Beeb’s Manchild, in which 50-something men acted like 20-somethings; the slight change is that it’s going to be about 40-somethings. John Corbett, of Northern Exposure and Sex and the City, was the only name attached to it at the time, but now we have a few new cast members.
Kevin Smith, director of Clerks and Silent Bob himself, is to play Paul, an angry divorced guy. And because all US shows now need at least one British cast member, James Purefoy is to take on the Nigel Havers role of the original show. It should be interesting, at the very least.

- There’s an interview with Louise Page, the Doctor Who costumer who created David Tennant’s ‘look’, over at Ain’t It Cool News.
- The Doctor has been named an official English icon by the great British/English public in a project to celebrate England’s heritage. I’m not sure what Messrs McCoy and Tennant make of that. Or BBC Wales for that matter.
- Hugh Quarshie is to appear as ‘Solomon’ in a two-part Doctor Who story. You may know him from Holby City, Star Wars: The Phantom Menace or possibly even the early 90s version of The Tomorrow People.
