Note to Simon Nye. Please do not make the mistake of thinking you are cleverer/funnier then Richmal Crompton. You are not. So try not to lose the original genius in an attempt to get down wiv the kidz. I can assure you that kidz of all ages still get William. Full stop. (Also look at Martin Jarvis' radio scripts if you do have to fiddle).

PS should add this doesn't detract from how brilliant I think Simon Nye is, but am fed up with people at BBC thinking they know best how to tamper with our favourite stories and then proving they don't. I need only say Robin Hood, I think. Today's kids deserve the original William in all it's glory.
