That would be the amazing special power of an iPod hard drive spinning up and down. What I can say? I've never needed a broadcast quality recorder until now, and having something that syncs nicely with iTunes saves a lot of time. I had hoped the higher frequencies would be taken out during the conversion to mono speech-optimised sound, but obviously not (although I didn't notice them when I was listening back to it). Might consider something else if I do any more podcasts though,
