I can't believe they've recommissioned Coming Of Age, one of the worst sitcoms ever. It makes Two Pints of Lager seem like Fawlty Towers. I am hardly the target audience but I refuse to believe that anyone enjoys this. E4 has shown that funny programmes aimed at teenagers can be smart too, such as Skins and the rather good Inbetweeners. I thought cancelling Phoo Action was the start of BBC3 realising they can't palm off any old rubbish anymore. In the immortal words of Smash Hits, must we throw this filth at our pop kids?

BBC3's track record on sitcoms is very poor, with a few exceptions mostly targeted at adults (eg Pulling - I hear - and Gavin & Stacey). Clone went right downhill within five minutes of the second episode. Let's not consider Grown Ups too closely either.

Isn't it kind of early to talk about spinoffs for Gossip Girl? Leaving aside the whole backdoor pilot thing almost never working (case in point when Gilmore girls tried to launch a series with Milo Ventimiglia's character going to live with his parents - not only did the pilot not fly, but it was also the first episode of the series to be Not Good), The O.C. was more of a hit and no one ever said "Hey, why don't we give Melinda Clarke her own series?" They could at least wait until the second season's practically over like Beverly Hills 90210 did before Melrose Place began.

Why not just spinoff America's Next Top Model instead? America's Next Top Model: What Happened Next? America's Next Top Model: Battle Of The Champions (sic) ?

They are: Operation Fabulous.

Agreed, re: spin-off launching episodes being bad, although I quite enjoyed the CSI: Miami and CSI: NY spin-off episodes. However, Gossip Girl's doing reasonably well and they've tried spinning off Smallville countless times already...
