As a viewer I'd genuinely like not to know till the very last minute. I hadn't seen David Tennant in anything apart from Harry Potter till I saw Dr Who and it was great not knowing anything about him. Whereas if it is Paterson Joseph I feel I'll know everything about him before he starts and it won't feel so fresh. OTOH the kids who haven't seen him in anything and after CiN are convinced the next Doctor is David Morrison probably won't care (once they've got over the loss of DT of course...)

Point being: I am sick of all this Oh it's so exciting, nobody knows who it is rubbish. It's like having a tennis racket for Christmas, wrapped up in the shape of a tennis racket, and then having to pretend to be surprised. Oh for the Doctor to regenerate unexpectdly with no anouncement that the previous actor is leaving, a proper surprise Derek Jacobi is the Master moment, maybe my favourite single moment of the entire New Who so far.

If it really is PJ it would be better to let us all know now (unless it's actually David Morrison and this is all a double bluff). I just would like to be surprised once in a while I guess. I think my husband must be the only Dr Who fan in the world who hasn't picked up Paterson Joseph is even a contender, but then he doesn't spend his spare time trawling through the internet like I do!

I'm one who WISHES that we knew nothing about casting for DW under Moffatt -- but unless I wish to go into blogging purgatory and lose contact with all my favourite online people I'm resigned to always knowing more than I want.

For those who didn't notice, the 'cliffhanger-that-wasn't' back in July nearly KILLED me. I still feel sick at how it affected me.
