He'd finished writing it the night before, but didn't mention that to anyone, so they all sat through something that was supposed to be two hours but was actually four, because he forgot every other line and had to be prompted. He'd even had some of the lines stuck to the chairs for the close-up stuff. But at least he always said "what am I supposed to be saying?" in character.
