You're still watching it because it's a good show; the reason you're not sure why is because you're [Edited by Rob (MA [Cantab] in Mathematics) for abuse, inconsistency, poor punctuation, run-on sentences, confusion about the difference between 'your' and 'you're' and typos, by which point there wasn't much left, unfortunately]

Also, the fact that you want a 'macho' breath of fresh air to bring it down from geeky heights is saying that you want to make it like every other 'procedural' cop law and order drama, which is blatantly CONTRADICTING YOURSELF!

[Edited by Rob for abuse and because little Aaron forgot his name]

No, it's because all the FBI characters sit around saying how great Charlie is and seem not to be able to do the basics of their jobs without him, even though the FBI seems to be able to get by in general without a mathematics consultant – particularly one who applies it in real-world situations where it would be next to impossible to do so. LDP was the only regular character who would come in and argue that they didn't really need maths at that point and that there were other ways of doing things.

It's called contrast and makes things more interesting.

Actually, this season has been getting better since episode 1, although everything has returned to the status quo as predicted.
