I've only just got into series two, but I think it's fantastic. I am particularly keen on the Barry connection as I (genuinely) had one of the happiest days in my childhood there (and one of the only times I can remember being in Wales and it not raining)

The ending of last night's episode (I won't spoil it) was absolutely brilliant. Some of the bet writing I've seen in ages. I wish I'd written it.

I'd love to go to Barry, but oddly I've never been: my wife's maiden name is Barry and it was a family joke that they owned Barry Island, so she keeps promising to take me. Since we're doing a South Wales holiday next week, though, maybe we'll stop off along the way - it's got one of those brown heritage signs off the M4 and I'm a sucker for a brown heritage sign when I'm on holiday. I wonder how much of a tourist trade G&S is bringing to Barry?

I'm amazed that you managed to spend time in Wales without it raining, though. My golden rule of thumb is that it will rain for at least 50% of however long you spend there. Spend five days there and it'll rain two and a half days; spend five minutes there (keep dancing on and off the Severn bridge) and it'll rain for two and a half minutes.

Will never look at KFC the same way after the latest episode. Twas great.

Oh yes, it was Barry Beach/Island where I had such a perfect day. We had lots of wet Welsh holidays and this was one of the rare occasions the sun shone. I seem to remember donkey rides, ice cream, and scrambling up the rocks with my dad cursing me for being so light of foot when he was finding it hard going. Of such stuff are perfect childhood days made, and it was one reason that immediately endeared me to the series.

Yes tis of the KFC I speak. I think I probably won't look at sweetcorn in the same way again either. Don't mean to hijack the thread, but do you also watch Pulling? I was crying with laughter through that too. And a bit like with Dexter, I sort of feel I oughtn't enjoy it quite so much...

Fraid I don't watch Pulling: it looks like a typical BBC3 show, which puts me off it a bit. It might well be brilliant though.
