Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and what can Santa Rob bring you for 2013?

Merry Christmas! It’s that time again everyone. Time for my annual year-end break which some crazy people have decided to call “Christmas”.

As usual, I plan on doing precisely no work over the Christmas break, beyond maybe a review of Wonder Woman #15 on the 28th or 29th, but I’ll be back with the news and more on January 7th or 8th. Some time around then anyway.

Survey time
As always, let’s take this as an opportunity to have a reader survey. What sorts of things would you like to see on this here blog in 2013? And what sort of things have outstayed their welcome? Anyone thought of a replacement for Sitting Tennant yet?

Leave your requests for more, less or the same below in the comments and I’ll decide what gets the chop and what stays alive when I get back. I’ll probably carry on as before, but you never know.

In the meantime, a Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year to you all, thanks for reading (yes, even you lurkers) and a great big thanks as always to everyone who’s left a comment for livening up the place!

  • Not sure I want to tell you what to do with your blog. I mean, I turn up more for a round up of the headlines and the cult TV stuff than, say, being reminded what certain actors look like, but, given the amount I'm paying you to do this stuff …
    … no, no ideas.
    Merry Chi-mas.

The kinds of post I most value from you are your reviews of current shows and your entertainment news summaries: you help me find shows I might otherwise have missed, and to avoid the shows I ought to miss. I like knowing what you and everybody have been watching, but much less frequently than a week and I'm probably going to mostly forget what I watched.

  • Hey Rob, another great year so thank you for that. I look forward to getting my summary email each day and, visit the site to look at trailers. I like reviews of series which maynot be out in the UK and I come here for that info. Improvements… more Scarlett Johansson? Surely the replacement for Sitting Tennat is Slouching Cumberbatch or something? More cult TV as I always enjoy those! Overall, great. Keep up the good work 🙂

I come here for the reviews and especially like to have reviews of shows that miss the eyes of the mainstream US reviewers. Without this blog I wouldn't know the Almighty Johnsons (and many other Canadian shows too). Even the US shows are reviewed with an eye I trust (and am amused by) above pretty much any other reviewer/blogger.

The tv news is always essential daily reading too. It must take an age to compile but it is very much appreciated.

Stop taking holidays? Not on the table, eh? Oh well. Luckily you always come back before the shakes set in. I also applaud you for the time it takes to bring us those news links that I might otherwise not have seen. Love the cult tv stuff which also introduced me to so many wonderful old shows – like “The Box of Delights”, in keeping with the season. My daily whimsy this year will be celebrities and others acting as themselves in various TV shows. I hope you find something to replace the “Sitting Tennant” that most importantly keeps YOU interested. All the best in 2013, Rob!

The site remains brilliant – and I will often come back to here for info and reviews when something belatedly turns up on my radar. Always entertaining to read what was said (even by me!) but especially by your good self Rob. The archive stuff is also great for reminding me of the weird stuff watched in my youth!

  • Ta!

  • If all I've done has been to introduce one person to The Box of Delights, it's all been worth it.

  • Thanks. News only takes about an hour, hour 20 mins every morning… Sigh
