Why would using him in a villain role stop him? A well-established way to become the Doctor is to shoot the previous one on screen a few years before.

"I seem to recall that you told me about Benedict Cumberband turning down the Doctor-age last year some time. All hail your superior knowledge. But he lacks the warmth to be a good Doctor."

He'd be an interesting Master to Matt Smith's Doctor, don't you think, working on the Rusty "The Master is the evil mirror image of the Doctor" theory.

BC would be a fabulous Doctor. There's plenty of time, so long as they don't use him in a villain role before then. I really liked BC in The Last Enemy & so was really looking forward to his Sherlock. I was not disappointed.

  • 1) Benedict C would have been an interesting Doctor, but I'd be happier seeing him long(er) term as Holmes. And he certainly can't do both roles.

(Would Matt Smith swap perhaps? A job share: two seasons as the Doctor/two as Holmes?)

    2) Thrilled to see that Sherlock got such good ratings. I thought it was fantastic.

    3) Daniel Craig isn't right for Blomquist. Not really. Though this may have a lot to do with me thinking that Douglas Henshall would have been great in the role...
