Here's hoping very much he plays Wheelie, or such, a character by that name having already stolen his fame! But still there's room in the franchise for a little robot in disguise, whose shell is bright orange whatever he's... called.. now...

And after Wash's whiny voice I think Tudyk would be the perfect choice!

They might do, but if the record of the Being Human pilot is anything to go by, they won't.

I did an end-run and found a different source for the 'Sherlock' info. So that explains the discrepancy in the PBS stories that it was in the process of being filmed when I was certain I had read it had been finished a while ago.

I hope the original pilot survives somehow to at least make it to bootleg stage, but even better to have it on some future DVD release as an extra. I love seeing those sorts of things....
